I rent rooms out in my house, because hey it is fun being payed to live in your own home. A new couple just moved in from NYC. The second night here, the girl (a life long New Yorker) ordered Dominoes. I wasn't here when they ordered so I did the "oh man you shoulda called, I would have told you of much better places."
"No need. This is my favorite pizza, it's all I eat!"
I no longer trust her as she is obviously a terrible decision maker.

Haha, I don't *buy* Dominos. But if they're giving away free pizza? I'm all over that. I've got a ton of debt to pay off, I'll take free food any day.

So I turn on MLB Network for the 1st time in weeks and what are they talking about?
The damn Dee Gordon trade. Lol
    You just can't escape it.
Pretty good story from Peter Gammons about Kike tho.
Of course Kike's from Puerto Rico and one of his managers back on Houston's farm just assumed there was a language barrier and Kike just went along with it.
So they're like a month or so into the season and the manager's in the clubhouse ripping everyone a new one because they're sucking, and Kike stands up and says " Hey, skip..I just wanted to let you know that I've always spoken perfect english, so you don't have to pull me aside with the translator and rip me after this is over. "
The whole team and staff fall out laughin

Jesus, that almost tops the Grienke bathroom story.

What were they saying? He has been great (though not as well to start this year), but it is not like he is supremely outplaying the Dodgers haul. Did he do something cool and everyone was gushing over what a dumb deal it was?

Gammons' message was about the depth the Dodgers got in return and how it's a major factor in them being where they are right now (1st place), which is really nothing new, so I didn't really wanna hear that shit either.
But it was all worth it for the Kike story at the end.
What a crazy, little rascal Kike is

Chris Colabello Receives 80-Game PED Suspension
    By Jeff Todd | April 22, 2016

Blue Jays first baseman/outfielder Chris Colabello has received an 80-game PED suspension, per a league announcement, which is the penalty for a first-time offender. He tested positive for the banned substance dehydrochlormethyltestosterone. The 32-year-old’s roster spot will go to southpaw Chad Girodo, as Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca tweets.

Saw some crazy stat earlier where only Harper and I think Donaldson ( or somebody else, basically just Harper and another guy) have had a higher OPS than Dexter Fowler over the last like 90 games.
    Fowler is BALLIN.

Because he's not really as good as he is playing now? Just isn't.
It's only ex-Dodgers that when they go to a different team, and are rakin', or leading the league, etc., that all the "it's only temporary" bs gets written here.
Or negatives the guy may have, or incredibly, may have had while a Dodger, are accentuated to the nth degree...

He balked at a deal with the O's I believe, but yeah he's pretty good.
Reportedly been doing a ton of work with Bonds, which will of course open him up for steroid jokes.
Glad he can torment STL in the central

    • The Red Sox seem pleased with Hanley Ramirez’s transition from left field to first base, and the 32-year-old has won fans over with his effort and attitude, but the club needs more from him offensively, Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe offers. Ramirez, a career .296/.366/.493 hitter, is batting a disappointing .277/.290/400 with 17 strikeouts and three walks in 69 PAs this year. Since signing a four-year, $88MM contract with Boston in November 2014, the Red Sox’s current No. 5 hitter has put up a below-average .253/.291/.423 line in 499 PAs.

I imagine Bill James was against that signing, has never really liked Hanley and one could argue for good reason

Miami sucks. If they can go ahead and send us Stanton, that would be great

Guess this is the only time of year that Kershaw is not on that list. As the great philosopher, HoF manager, Joe Torre said. "It's not where you are when the season starts, it's where you are on the last day".
So, if we should fall out of 1st place, it may only be temporary. We can still do it again. We will.
Then, it's all downhill, most likely.
Unless this is the year...could be.
