Dave Roberts said Julio Urias remains under consideration to join #Dodgers but said he won't be in LA tomorrow.

agreed, its not a giants things, its more of a he sucks dick thing. ( I know, whats the difference) But Urias should be put in the BP ASAP and JDL in the rotation in a couple weeks after he gets another couple starts.

I was the guy here @ DSP arguing that Chase Utley would be a good addition to LAD like 2 or 3 years ago, so I definitely hold no silly grudges with guys who've whipped LAD in the past, but could help LAD in the present.

Urias and JDL have done what they were supposed to do, good kids, the FO made them a part of their potential depth/stash for this season after all the Greinke drama and both have stepped up, good for them, hopefully it goes the way you have it there.

 

Color me skeptical anytime the words " degenerative condition " are attached.
Little fella's already lasted longer than a lot of scouts thought he would in general.
But if he can come back and be effective with all that going on he's a legit gangster and worthy of being an LAD
The FO's done their due diligence on him, his health issues probably only give him a better chance at being a LAD TBH...that's a popular theme among FO skeptics, but maybe there's not as much bullshit involved with this particular theme.

 

Lincecum wants to start so if we could find someone to take Wood's place I don't give a shit what team that person was on previously.

 

I don't like the history there. He was a gas can after the 4th for his last few years as a SP. As a reliever I could see his value. But he wants to be a SP, and no workout or simulation is going to really uncover what he has left after throwing 50 pitches.

Also, we've had miserable history picking up former Gnats to play for us. That alone makes me nervous.

 

This, I don't get the over reaction.

Everyone has been talking about bringing up minor league arms for the pen, and Ravin is suspended, so it's obvious as fuck it's minor league depth for those occurences. But the Death Squad is ready to jump on any little news nugget with the "see how retarded the FO is?" mentality.

 

After years of trying, SF finally concluded he was done. I trust their judgment being so close to the situation. Doubtful timmy signs for minor league $ imo but if he does then ok, I'm on board. But timmy getting paid 6 mill to get lit up in AAA would piss me off.

Just for the record, this is in no way an apt comparison. Utley was a member a team that beat the Dodgers a few times. Lincecum was a motherfucking Giant, a team who has been the Dodgers mortal enemy since before my birth (and that's a while). I dislike any Giant coming to the Dodgers (if there is a team or two inbetween then I merely view them with disdain) directly and lest we forget the immortal Jackie Robinson RETIRED rather than be traded to the fucking Giants.

Guys who "whipped LA in the past" are welcome, IMO. Giants need not apply.

 

It's interesting when people remind you how smart they've been in the past, they only use the examples of players they suggested to go out and get that have panned out.

As cute a story as there's been on DSP, however, only the W matters in reality.
Don't remember much moaning going on when Brian Wilson was pitching well out of the pen for LAD/helping LAD shut games down a couple years ago.
That's because at the end of the day a win is a win.
