Nolan Arenado is so good. Wish he was on our squad. Damn it.

Padres expected to trade James Shields within 24 hours. White Sox are the favorites. Like they need starting pitching...

They probably won't want to trade in division, but we could use bodies in the SP as much as possible. We can maybe use returning SPs who were injured in the BP role to get them warmed up in the interim.

Package a prospect with some of our excess outfielders....CC or Puig.

    I know pipe dream.....

Shields for a Fernando Tatis, Jr. and pitcher Erik Johnson and the Sawks are picking up 27 million.

We need all the help we can get. Could have sworn people saying Cueto sucks and wasn't worth the price. He's 9-1 for the Gnats.

Two different guys. Cueto is a proven elite National League pitcher. Sheilds has a WHIP of 1.5 and has been declining for a while.

I didn't want Cueto for contract, health, and it doesn't seem like he has anything between the ears. Watching him choke against Pittsburgh while being taunted by the crowd was really something, wasn't it? But there's no denying he's proven over a large sample size that he's one of the best pitchers in the NL and he's doing great with SF. So in hindsight, I would definitely reconsider my stance on not signing him. I would've given him a further look.

I'll never forget how all those smart baseball people were praising Preller's every move last offseason when literally none of them made any sense.

Was looking at exit velocities and interestingly enough kazmir has the lowest exit velocity in the league

Maeda and Kershaw are also in the top 5 or so

I'm annoying as hell but I've been saying for most of the year that yeah, Kazmir's stuff has looked fine if not great all season. Fastball has bite, changeup is solid, and other off speed is sharp. His command is what is freaking killing him

Interesting start in Houston tomorrow, Sonny Gray fresh off the DL vs. the hottest team right now in the AL. Loney 3 - 4 today lol. We talk about the Padres issues throughout the organization it looks like the D-fags are fading faster than a pair of K-Mart jeans.
