But who is it then, who knows what is best for the team ?
Certainly not the people running the organization right now...

Nah, its not necessary and has not been so in a while. Same in basketball.
People always surprised when I make a lineup and have guys playing other positions but it is inevitable that they move there.

    1B: Seager
    SS: Machado
    RF: Harper
    CF: Bellinger
    3B: Donaldson
    2B: Turner
    LF: Kemp
    C : Grandal

Have to do their best to get structure in order, and LAD is far as hell away from that..and would be no matter what since our 35M a year legendary ace is a turd in the playoffs. That kills. Just a chain reaction all the way down. I'd rather rely on young guns coming up through the system like Buehler, Santana, whatever remains of Urias, etc. than give Kershaw another 30M+ a year deal to not get the job done when it matters. Spend that money on good/great, young players in their prime.

I'm curious to see what a trade deadline looks like where LAD sells. If they start getting offers for Kershaw, they damn well better listen. Likewise, for the other older guys making big scratch.
I'm sure whatever team is interested in Puig will love knowing he's donating $1,000 to charity for every home run he hits. Lol So far this year..$1,000 to the board! :laff:

    They have a plan.
If the plan is Bryce Harper and Manny Machado and some top flight free agent relievers/SP and no fear of salary implications then that is best for the team.
They only need to get out of the top tier tax 1 time out of every 4 years. It resets back down to the minimum tax which they can live with.
Right now they are paying 1.50 for every dollar spent.
This offseason they have no more excuses.
The tax will be low. So they better go balls out and spend big.
I remember they had similar strategies to spending on foreign players.
Which is why we had no more money for Ohtani.

Hope this is true because a lot of jobs will be on the line if they lay an egg again next year.

Live my truth, which is always hoping for the future even if the present is from your crazy aunt and its cheap socks from the swap meet and Avon brand cologne and deodorant.

    • Friedman: “There is no doubt in my mind that he is the right guy to lead this team going forward. The way our minds work is not to assign blame to anyone at this point. It’s to hunker down, all together, and try to solve problems. I’m very comfortable in saying that, if we had to assign blame at this point, it should be me who is taking that, and not Doc.”
plenty of blame to go around andy, don't get all greedy... bkitch

For the pure shittiness that this season has been, the teams ahead of the Dodgers haven’t done anything of late to make things tougher on the club and while we are getting somewhat healthy, others aren’t. Just now Pollock left the D’Backs game after a very nasty dive in the OF that went wrong and he rolled up on his wrist. They’ve been beaten up by injuries and the ones to their rotation are taking a toll.

Not that this team is doing anything to give us hope, but the fact the nobody in the division is creating a huge gap is better for this club if they can right the ship.

Interesting note on Dodgers.com - someone asked about the possibility of Kershaw being traded this season if the Dodgers continue to tank. Apparently, on June 3, Kershaw will earn 10/5 rights, so he will have a full no-trade clause at the deadline.

Sign Andrew Miller, Zach Britton, Patrick Corbin and Lance Lynn.

    Kershaw, Buehler, Corbin, Wood, Lynn
    Jensen, Miller, Britton, Maeda, Cingrani

    1B: Seager
    SS: Machado
    RF: Harper
    3B: Donaldson
    CF: Bellinger
    2B: Turner
    LF: Toles/Taylor
    C : Ruiz/Barnes

    100M in pitching
    125M in hitting
225M payroll at minimum tax rate for 4 years
tax penalty is only on new spending not existing contracts
they can trade lots of current assets as sellers to get more prospects
then stack the team with the best FA and form a long term dynasty
they found a loophole in the tax system

    1) The tax penalty is on any payroll over the cap amount, new/old contracts are irrelevant
    2) Its not the minimum tax rate for 4 years, we just start at the bottom rung and start working back up.
    3) Trade "lots" of current assets for prospects? You mean Puig, Grandal, and Forsythe?
    4) I'd like to see your payroll worksheet. You have us at only $225 million even though you have us signing all 4 top FA's and 3 others in the top-15.

We will never win a championship until Seger, Ballinger, and Kershaw are supporting players, and not the guys we rely on

Good job voice to text. Your spelling is immaculate
