If the Dodgers could acquire one player at the deadline, who would you prefer?

  1. Machado

    43.5%
  2. Front line starter (degrom, thor, et al)

    56.5%

The NL is crap, so it's time to separate ourselves from the pack. As long as we stay under the tax, get all you can.

I wouldn’t wanna trade anything for Fulmer that can instead be traded for Machado or an elite reliever

Not necessarily disagreeing but the thing about Fullmer is that he's only 23 and has 3 years of team control left. (Makes the price higher I know) Ryu is still a question mark, Wood is hot right now, Kenta is good at home but road is scary and he could convert to reliever. That leaves Kersh who hasn't been healthy and the issue is with a back, Rich WILL get a blister, history has shown that, Buehler is a kid with minimal big league experience as is Caleb. Fullmer while young has been pitching in the hitter friendly AL for over a year and half. NEVER have enough pitching.

Many things can happen by 7/31 so we do have time.

    SP: Kershaw, Strip, Hill, Ryu
RP: Kenley, Trade, Buehler, Wood, Maeda

    That should be enough.

Poor Dustin May, kiss his career down the tubes if he gets traded to the Orioles.

The Dodgers have so many positions that are blocked/could be blocked long term that I could see them finally dealing some top positional prospects for a rental like Machado to give them that guy who if alone is swinging a hot bat, could carry you to a WS. They could also then spin an MLB OF'er for spects to free up more AB's(Puig or Pederson).

Wow, Dodgers retroactively put Buehler back on the DL and now his start tonight is considered a rehab start. The original move the Dodgers made was going to keep him under team control for an extra year, so I'm wondering if they did this to play nice with him so that he signs a long term deal.

    We made a trade:
The Los Angeles Dodgers today acquired RHP Dylan Floro, minor-league RHP Zach Neal and international signing bonus pool space from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for minor league RHPs James Marinan and Aneurys Zabala.

It's a lot of words for I guess, Dylan Floro who is an okay reliever

Or in other words, Magic has learned how to communicate with a player's agent? :D :D

Floro's K rate isn't exciting but his GB% is above 58 so that's pretty good. Although I'm not too high on our middle infield defense, the high home run rate bullpen gets scary

ONLY redeeming quality I see is he's decent against right handers. His home and road splits are backwards as he pitches better in that minor league stadium, in Cincy.

I think I agree with the nerds on CBS and ESPN that the Dodgers are not really in the running for Machado because there just doesn’t seem to be any real interest for him in the FO.

I agree in that power doesn’t seem to be the issue here...it’s timely hitting, and Machado can go into slumps.

But the real Achilles heel is our pitching.

The hitting failed us in Game 7 of the WS, but the pitching consistently failed us at the worst of times. It’s amazing how we’ve been so snake bit by this through the years...no matter what we do and sometimes don’t do.
