If it turns out the Yankees are able to unload a contract or two and get the Marlins to eat 5 million per year, I will pretty much hate the Nerds.

Report is Yankees want to dump some bad contracts on Miami to get under the tax threshold for 2018, just like LA. This will piss me off if they get that in the deal.

ESPN will be insufferable (even more than they already are) if Stanton goes there.

From what I can gather, the Dodgers are still Stanton’s first choice, so even if Miami and NY make a deal it’s not a given he waives his no trade. I highly doubt a trade to anyone but the Dodgers happens quickly, Stanton knows he will have time to check in with the Dodgers.

The fucked up ball had A LOT to do with it too. His very first flat AF pitch that got hammered for a double told the story.

    yeah
you'd have to think that even if the yankees put together an acceptable offer, stanton will give us the last shot

Joel’s sherman says Stanton to NYY is basically done. Second worst 24 hours of the year. Son of a mother fucking bitch. Best power hitter in the fucking game wants to be a dodger and all it would’ve cost us basically money and trash prospects and they wouldn’t even do that. Fuck Friedman, fuck Zaidi, fuck Ned Colletti and Carl Crawford Yasiel Sierra and Andre Ethier and Alex Guerrero and Hector Olivera and Matt Kemp and Kazmir, and MehCarthy and every stupid fucking contract they gave out and took on that put us balls deep into luxury tax and didn’t do shit on the field. One win away from the World Series where we couldn’t hit for shit 6/7 games and you stand by and let the fucking Yankees got Stanton and now you’ll stand by and watch them roll to 5 titles in the next 10 years while we continue to not win anything important except Cy Young’s

And a big fuck you to Derek Jeter. Probably his plan all along to give him to the Yankeees

Moving forward I think you have to assume MLB is going to keep fucking with the ball. IMO it’s reason to prioritize hitting over pitching, and any pitching that can’t at least be serviceable with a fucked up ball needs to be taken behind the barn and shot. I hate hate hate to plan on needing a dozen runs to win a WS game, but MLB got their WS “classics” so they will no doubt pull that shit again. Figure out why Charlie Morton was able to pitch well and sign guys like him on the cheap while loading up on Giancarlo Stantons, don’t waste money on Darvishes who will be bad money when it counts the most.

They’re gonna let Kershaw walk next year aren’t they?

I wouldn’t put it past our FO. I think odds are highly in our favor to keep Kershaw, but the odds of the FO letting him walk are high enough to make keeping him far from a sure thing.

I could never be a GM because I felt from the beginning we didnt need Stanton but we needed pitching. But with Ohtani now gone, and the Yanks deep in talks with Stanton, now I want Stanton.

    Get it done FO!
