i get considering almost everyone for a postseason pen help
but how about this... if a guy's a starter, and he's been effective there, why change things now?
i'd get it if there was rotation depth, but who's the #4... maeda, stripling, caleb...?
no guarantees with hill coming back from injury
maybe it's just posturing from roberts (but i doubt he's that intelligent)
and here's an idea -- the guy you're considering for sunday's start, gonsolin...
there's your bullpen guy
Dodgers to try top prospect May as reliever
ESPN News — 6 hours ago
The Los Angeles Dodgers will try Dustin May, their top pitching prospect, as a reliever this weekend as they look to determine if he'll have a place on their postseason roster.
May had been slated to start Sunday's game against the Atlanta Braves, but manager Dave Roberts told reporters Friday that they will instead use the 21-year-old as a reliever at some point in the series.
"Right now, we're just trying to keep our options open as long as we can," Roberts said in explaining how the team plans to use May going forward.
The manager said May is open to being used as a reliever, something he hasn't done since 2017 with Class A Rancho Cucamonga.
May has made three starts since making his major league debut Aug. 2. He is 1-1 with a 2.65 ERA, going 5 ⅔ innings in each appearance.
Roberts said Tony Gonsolin, who is at Triple-A Oklahoma City, could start Sunday or the Dodgers may treat it as a bullpen game.
JULIO URIAS SUSPENDED 20 GAMES BY MLB.
There you go.
this explains a lot...
Rob Manfred does not like this.
Now May will be a reliever going forward for sure....unless AFucktard's ego won't give up on Floro and Garcia yet?
I can already see the fucktard moral police on Twitter saying how Urìas is a scumbag and should be released blah blah blah
Nothing new happened and I don’t understand how he can be suspended if he’s cleared by the police.
Is he postseason eligible is the only question is care about?
MLB is pathetic.
Urias is still eligible for the post season which is why he is not appealing. He already served 5 games so there is 15 remaining on the 20 games.
Manfred & MLB has so many SJW cocks in their mouths now ... it's impressive they can even speak at these pressers.
What really happened? No way we ever know. Meanwhile, we know Chapman discharged a pistol beside his wife's head, but let's turn a blind eye there because Yankees ...
the incident had gone away
no one was asking for something to be done
there was literally no need for them to flex their muscles
that asshat torre probably butted his holier-than-thou nose in
The timing of this is so baffling.
No way this happens to a member of the Yankees.
Maybe worst of all, at least to an annoyed old bastard like me, is that little twat Dustin at Dodgers Digest is going to sing a song of sadness every fucking day for at least a week about the social justice angle of this punishment, and how it's not harsh enough, and how Urias should get gang raped in prison, and every other fucking thing we're supposed to listen to from these asshat liberal shemales, who'll go on and on about their pet issues and don't give one shit about the actual persons beyond the political possibilities.
Somehow, this all is Trump's fault.
It's as if they are the military.
" We dole out our own punishments in our own good time".
Nosler is a twat
People saying they’d rather Urìas have an injury so he can’t pitch in the playoffs and essentially win the WS without him is fucking mind blowing to me. Simps.
I am gonna try like hell to get tickets to that. Probably gonna be too expensive, but the wife said I can at least try. Plus, it's not an AWFUL drive.
They will probably allocate a certain amount of tickets to locals, so there will be a lot of people battling for 6-7k seats. Will definitely be expensive
The Dodgers are going to use the suspension to get Urias on a regular schedule. When he returns, it is likely it will be as the Dodgers #4 starter. Gonsolin is going to get another start after today (sounds like no matter what) and will likely see his usage shift to the pen as well. This was something that was talked about all year. Urias is absolutely going to need to build up stamina as he has shown some struggles in his third inning of work. With that said, on pure stuff alone Urias is probably the second best pitcher on the staff.
Though it is not likely, the Dodgers do plan to bring Rich Hill back as a starter.
Ross Stripling is done starting this year. They will bring him back as a reliever.
I just feel like the bullpen is weaker without Julio down there and I don't see the advantage of having him attempt to go deep into games when he hasn't shown an ability to do so this year.
His highest and best use seems to be 2 innings out of the pen in high leverage situations.
That Game 4 of the first round is gonna be hell, especially if we’re down 2-1
