    The farm is key and it's pretty good. Right now they're in a situation where the vets just don't believe. Machado goes elsewhere, he comes off vacation and likely goes back to producing. Maddon has created belief among his players everywhere he's gone. I'd rather not find out

    They need pitching for sure
    Some names are coming free..SD native Strasburg would be a strong buy this offseason

    Who is the player under the most pressure entering the postseason?
    David Schoenfield/ESPN: Kenley Jansen. The Dodgers have seven straight division titles and two straight World Series appearances with no titles to show for it. Jansen's postseason history the past two World Series includes a blown save and a loss in 2017 and two blown saves in 2018. If he'd done his job, the Dodgers might have two rings. Now he enters October coming off -- for him -- a poor second half. Everyone in Dodgerland is questioning whether he can do the job. So, yeah, the pressure is enormous.

    For our sake, I hope Kenley isn’t the difference between winning and losing. Because we will lose.

    I’m expecting nothing from Kenley. Won’t happen, but I honestly wouldn’t care if he wasn’t on the postseason roster.

    yeah the best case scenario is that most of the games are decided by the 9th inning. Let everyone else decide the game that by the time it’s the 9th, we’re either winning comfortably or losing comfortably. Cause if we end up in a lot of 1 run games, yikes

    What a ridiculous predicament to be in. It's the postseason with a bunch of good teams matching up and the expectation that there will be many close contests, and yet the 106 win LAD are not equipped for close contests..amazingly ridiculous.

    Tried to explain the above^^^^ to the gf and a few other that know I'm a Dodger fan for over 60 years...and they all arrive at the same conclusion: " the owners must be fucked up to allow that situation to exist"...
    Except the gf, who says " you have no faith".
    No faith, indeed.
    I reckon I must have a little, at least.
    Still here...hopin', but not expectin'...like NZ wrote.

    to be fair though, as I’ve repeated before, lots of bullpens suck this year. The Nats closer is Daniel fucking Hudson. Josh hader is elite obviously but giving up a TON of home runs. Braves closer is a shaky Melancon. Cardinals closer is a work in progress.

    AL closers are pretty good

    I predict the NL games are gonna be INSANE in the 7-9th innings

    Yeah, but..LAD shouldn't be in this class. At all.

    We should be confident that a 106 win LAD team can hold its own in a tight contest

    And I'm afraid of the trickle down effect. If Kenley can't be counted on, that means additional pressure on the guys slotted before him..additional pressure on our hitters.

    I guess it is what it is. Sure would be nice if both Kenley and Kersh could rewrite it all this post. Shock us. Please.

    They're going for Maddon..and I hope they get him.

    Bochy leaving..I really would hate to see another good manager land in the NL West
