Lindor has definitely been the better postseason player than .203 hitting Corey with a .605 ops.

That's the thing we should be looking at going forward. Who does and doesn't perform in the postseason and if the sample size is large enough, fuck them. Too many chokers on this roster.

I say get rid of all those whites and bring in more blacks and mexicans.
Kenley is not white but he grew up in a dutch country so he's whiter than Joc and im sure eats more sausage.
Kike is cuban but looks white which adds to the confusion.
Leave all the domicans and puerto ricans and venezuelans and those types to other teams.
We need mexicans, cubans, and american blacks with some big heavy balls.
Guys that grew up eating tons of meat, cheese, corn, and potatoes and still do.
    Joc and Muncy can stay.
They look like they grew up on a farm and that is as close to eating like a Mexican as you can get.

Joc grew up in Palo Alto, about as far from growing up on a farm as you can get.

And horrible postseason performance is one thing, but when your team actively decides to cut back on your postseason opportunities, there's no hiding from that. There's no upside to take away from that and no other way to spin it. As an org, the Dodgers said - you know what..you're in the 7-hole, Seager. I mean, was there any hitter in MLB that was as lost as Bellinger going into the postseason? Dodgers said - hey, Seager..you go hit 2 or 3 spots after the lost guy. Lol Joc Pederson..Joc Pederson..gets the top of the lineup nod over Seager. Smh

If I'm team X reaching out about Seager's availability, the Dodgers better not give me a whole lot of shit and ask me to do backflips and cartwheels to get a deal done. We're talking about a guy that's been brittle since 2017, so there's really no reason to view him with much optimism moving forward and ZIPS' projection system agrees. Even when he performed well in spots this season it was against lesser/finesse pitchers in contests that were already decided. I was a big supporter of Seager and I still root for him, and he is trying everything under the sun to get back to form, but it is what it is..shit's not a fairy tale. His stock is down. LAD wouldn't be able to sell me on any BS here..especially without an actual salesman GM.

Seeing some Seager/Yankees stuff on the net

Probably the best place for Seager..they'll pay him and he can just rapid fire swing for their little league fences while competing for a title

Who am I kiddin..Yankees will end up with Lindor

Seager has that clean-cut, golden-boy look that the Yankees like. He'd look good in a Yankees uniform.

Other potential fits for Seager could be:
    Mariners
    Rangers
    Braves
    Reds

I could see us trading for Lindor and keeping Seager... but I could also see us not trading for Lindor and trading Seager. Now that I think about it, Lindor and Seager aren't necessarily contingent upon each other.

I keep saying Mariners, but they'd probably have to move some pieces around. JP Crawford or Dee could be out..or Corey potentially takes 3B and Kyle moves to 1B. Ryon Healy just opted for free agency, so he's no longer the Mariners' 1B.

A Seager/Votto swap would be nice. Would leave LAD with additional moves to make, of course, because Votto takes 1B, but so be it. Votto is Verlander to me..new scenery, new life. He was an all star in 2018, so the talent is probably still lurking.

Braves..fuck that. Just in case he does regain form, only NL non-contenders need apply.

Yankees, agreed. He looks like a Yankee.

The thing about potentially trading for Lindor and keeping Seager is that LAD will have that bill coming at some point soon. Would they pay both?

and if a white former NFL great expressed similar sentiments...........

I think we all know what the reaction would be. Of course in poor Earl's case it might be the CTE talking.

    • The Mets have named Carlos Beltran their new coach.
    • Aroldis Chapman may actually opt out of his contract. Before he does, he is going to try to give the Yankees an exclusive negotiating window to re-sign him longer term. Chapman once again failed on the big stage as he was on the mound for Altuve's walkoff to send the Astros to the WS. Chapman has been brilliant in WC and DS games, but has not been nearly as reliable in the LCS or WS. I think this is just a ploy as I don't see anyone giving him more than the 17M per over the next two that he has coming to him if he remains with the Yanks. Kimbrel has been the more dominant reliever over the course of both of their careers and even he could only get 14.5 per. Would guess the Dodgers have no interest in him due to his past issues that cost him from joining the team already.
    • Alex Gordon has had his option declined by the Royals. So glad that he never signed with the Dodgers a few years ago. A lot of analytical folks were all over him as after 4 straight big seasons. He stayed with the Royals and has been nowhere close to the player he used to be.
    • Edwin Encarnacion had his option declined by the Yankees. He had a horrendous first month with the club, but after that he was still a monster as usual(when he could stay on the field). He missed a month and came back in time for the playoffs where he saw a solid ALDS turns into an abysmal ALCS when the Astros pitchers abused him. He may not have a whole heck of a lot of options out there at this point, but teams like the Blue Jays, White Sox and Rays are probably ones to watch the most here. The Rockies were said to be kicking around on him multiple times in the past, but ultimately missed out. It is unsure if he is interested in playing the field anymore at this point.
    • The Dodgers added LHP Victor Gonzalez to the 40 man roster. He was a fast rising reliever last year that was speculated as a potential late season BP addition, but faltered a bit in AAA and ended up staying put. He has some really positive scouting reports right now.

I can’t believe the FO gave Jansen that much money for that long a contract. Seeing as teams appear to have backed off giving large and long term contracts to pitchers, this is turning into a travesty.

If you look at the years of failure in clutch situations in the past and extrapolate this 2 years into the future.....this is a bad contract.

He was one of the top 3 closers in the game at the time and on a HOF trajectory. Made a whole lot of sense and the first year looked like a good deal until he choked in the WS and has not been the same since. His stuff and build translated into a solid career outlook, but it has backed up WAY more than many saw coming. Tough to blame the FO for this one. Fat ass even admitted that he took things too easy that offseason after the WS and he has never recovered from it.

and with him earning $18M next season and $20M in 2021
there's really no motivation for him to work any harder

Nope. I'm still pissed about that BS he said where he was going to workout with Mariano in the offseason and then just never got around to it.
