I say stock heavy hitters everywhere else and ride out whatever you get from seager out of SS. If he fails another season we have ample depth in the pipes.
Lux can cool his jets as a super utility pinch hitter type if seager produces.
If not then seager will give up more and more at bats to Lux.

Muncy at 2B provides good pop.
So the obvious offensive upgrades that are cheap are at the corners.
Donaldson should be a no brainier on this team.
No cost other than an overall short term financially prudent deal.
To save money platoon Joc with Pollock in LF for a potent duo and try out Verdugo as the full time RF.

Then trade Joc plus another OF because that means someone in the IF moving to LF.

The Dodgers love depth, and to be honest, it has served us well. Having 5 regular infielders isn’t going to be seen as a problem, nor should it. Trading Seager probably isn’t even on the table without another SS, like Lindor. I’m not even sure if signing Donaldson makes Seager expendable... why go into the season being one Lux injury away from a replacement level SS starting every day?

Funny enough, the Dodgers' last 5 seasons have ended with a replacement level guy @ SS. Even when Seager was good and still had that superstar ceiling - he sucked against good pitching in the fall.

There is no great haul coming for Seager, no matter what the interested team's farm looks like. Best they can hope for is a solid return..couple B prospects. Teams are gonna just hang up the phone and try for Bryant, Betts, Arenado, or Lindor first. Difference makers that aren't pathetic against good pitching in the fall. Guys that are worth more than $7.6M in salary.

Alex Wood coming back according to Rosenthal. Would guess as a reliever going forward.... maybe not. $4M and can reach $10M with incentives.

He should get a chance to start without a doubt.

I figured since he missed most of last season, plus the depth we have, he could be headed for the pen. That payday tells me otherwise. Interesting bit is that Wood has been working with Driveline to clean up his delivery and maybe pull out some more velo. Another solid gamble, but they still need to do something bigger.

Ok. This is now a pattern. The 1 in 3 gamble. I fully expect to see Danny Salazar signed to a minor league contract by the weeks end.

For some reason I seem to remember he wasn’t awesome, but he still tweeted in good spirits with a lot of the guys after the trade. So who knows.

Wood makes sense in our current situation. Would’ve rather had Rich Hill....

I think he was going back to the windup, he went exclusively out of the stretch his last year as a Dodger and his numbers dipped. Then he was mostly hurt last year.

They said in the video I was watching that they were going to clean up his whippy arm motion. His mechanics were always shit and it’s why his velo has been so up and down throughout his career. He’s still only 29, so there could still be another year or two of production in him if they can get him right.

Yes a very high tweeting WAR...as a ML picher though, not so good. Guy sucked elephant gonads every other turn. A RISP frenzy waiting to happen.
A weak move, with obvious overtones of quiet, smug desperation. RH batters rejoicing en masse.
I wish that Thulsa Doom and the Snake Cult were a real thing...I could easily rise to a lofty position, since being a Dodger fan for 64 years, I have finally reached true Emptiness...although not ready to jump from a cliff to prove my faith when Kasten beckons "come to me my child" standing on the bottom.
But so many will, and the seats will overflow with devotees clamoring to attend the LAD bacchanal again...
