Reminds me of the old SNL skit "Who would win in a fight, Ditka or a hurricane? ... but the hurricane's name is Hurricane Ditka"

And on a side note, WestWorld is fucking incredible! I never saw the original... but holy shit I was riveted.

The original, so far anyway, much, much different than this one. I mean, opposite ends of the spectrum, except for the very basic theme.
Looks interesting, though and the original only 2 hours, so less complicated.
Hope it fares better than the new Magnificent 7 did compared to the original...then again, Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen are hard to beat, imo.

I loved the original, and as much as I think Denzel is a terrific actor... that trailer just rubbed me the wrong way.

TM7 became part of American culture really when you think about it...the music and the Marlboro commercials ( unfortunate), besides Brynner and McQueen, guys like Charlie Buchinski (Bronson), James Coburn (Derek Flint), Robert Vaughn ( Napoleon Solo), who all became iconic stars in their own right. Damn, Bronson's Death Wish franchise went for years, and Flint, too.
Sometimes, although it is a great story, it just doesn't pay to make a classic like that over again. I'm waiting for On the Waterfront to be done over, but we'll never see it...praise the Lord.
    At least I hope not.

It's really hard to find good movies anymore, most of them involve comic books or remakes.

TV is where it's at for original creative stories. Pretty amazing how much of that has shifted in the last ten years. Sopranos really changed the game with that one.

Although primal and possibly completely gratuitous in a masculine vein, I believe that the appearance of naked breasts and frontal nudity, now commonplace on cable TV, was a huge factor on launching television to it's present lofty heights with a bullet it now enjoys. Slurp...took a little while..
The superior writers/ actors just followed with the increased viewership and fallen boundaries. Movies are now on the maquee in everyone's living room.
As always, whether poorly or skillfully witten or acted, pussy rules.

Well that show was the precursor to a great HBO tradition: gratuitous female nudity. And I haven't complained since.

Wow...Tom Cruise looking pretty old in that trailer for the new film...showing every one of his 54 years now...good! Fuck him.
Pretty soon, he'll crack, go under again, and show up looking like Faye Dunaway.

Actually, Sharon Stone looks ravishingly beautiful compared to Faye Dunaway.
