Wow. Just Wow. Both sides are often guilty of saying stuff like this, but damn. No matter how much you disagree with someone, they're still human beings at the end of the day.
He was "senior" counsel for "strategic" transactions. That was neither strategic nor senior in counsel. CBS may want to double check on the transactions he worked on.
agreed he was a revolutionary bringing nude women to the masses but yeah, not something he was going to win a nobel prize for haven't read a lotenough of joyce, but i've read tons of wilde they both pushed the boundaries, but they were too far ahead of their times -- society wasn't ready for them hef's timing -- intended or coincidental -- was nearly perfect marilyn monroe was at the forefront of every guy's, er, mind and youth was beginning to start a rebellion james dean, elvis, the beatles of the late 50's/early 60's followed by the free love of the late 60's/early 70's i remember having a playboy bunny t-shirt when i was in elementary school (1966-67) my teacher sent me home and told me to change my dad called the principal and they backed off that teacher hated me from that day forward -- but, to her credit, graded me fairly but i digress bottom line... thank you hef but i doubt any statues will be "erected" for you
had a chance to see him a couple weeks ago passed only because the girl who invited me is still married/pending divorce <<<more complicated than just that, trust me during my young "band" years we always covered petty american girl, breakdown he was kinda under the radar back then like a pre-"frampton comes alive" peter frampton "damn the torpodoes" pretty much coincided with mtv's rise way too young i'm actually stunned expected him to be around for quite some time rip tom
what a fucken clueless, insensitive idiot nice network hiring practices and shame on "good morning britain" for dropping the news on mariah carey on live tv not a big mariah fan by any means, but blindsiding someone like that when they're not prepared is fucken shameful she handled herself pretty well (albeit lounging on a couch in front of a christmas tree), but it seemed like they wanted to make her look bad
just saw he was near death i had asked my buddy that works at the hollywood bowl to hook me up last week and i guess there were no stray tickets imo Petty was one of the true poets and writers of American rock and roll his music was the soundtrack of high school for me still remember when damn the torpedos came out and we played it to death throwing frisbees at the beach my two daughters love him as well say he sings we such correct emotion like on her comes my girl at the end when hes sings "thats right" and then again "THATS RIGHT!" loved the man and wish i had the chance to see him live selfish i know a true rock and roll legend so long brother fuck
Strange reporting on this but CBS said he was gone and TMZ says he not but there is a DNR in place. The Vegas tragedy causing so much chaos and understandably so is probably affecting the media outlets. Speaking of Vegas I was there until around 1:30 am this morning and it was surreal man. Never was in any danger but close enough to hear so many sirens.
saw that too but also that he's in grave condition and not expected to last thru the night sad regardless
no brain activity for more than a few minutes is over DNR is the only way to go and the last try is basically freezing the body and trying to shock it awake so maybe thats whats happening fuck this monday seriously
Let me run with you tonight I'll take you on a moonlight ride There's someone I used to see But she don't give a damn for me But let me get to the point, let's roll another joint And turn the radio loud, I'm too alone to be proud You don't know how it feels You don't know how it feels to be me People come, people go Some grow young, some grow cold I woke up in between A memory and a dream So let's get to the point, let's roll another joint Let's head on down the road There's somewhere I gotta go And you don't know how it feels You don't know how it feels to be me My old man was born to rock He's still tryin' to beat the clock Think of me what you will I got a little space to fill So let's get to the point, let's roll another joint Let's head on down the road There's somewhere I gotta go And you don't know how it feels No, you don't know how it feels to be me
Great post. Spot on with the timing mention...so very much like the Beatles. He rode the perfect storm of cultural change in thought and morals, exactly as they did... And in his wake, as in theirs, nothing was ever the same again.
