Just because he OC of a defense that underachieved is leaving? I don't get his thought process. I know they form relationships but the entire atmosphere of going to a reinvigorated program and a great area like Westwood should be more important.

"commit to a school, not a coach" but I understand why the kids feel otherwise.

I get that sentiment but then if you are so enamored with the guy see if you can follow him to his next destination not go home.

Mariota sliding in the mocks. We probably just need one team willing to jump past the Jets for him to get the Jets calling. But who would they be calling?..or who'd take them up on their offer? You could make the argument that everybody from 2-5 needs to trade back and moving back to #6 would be ideal everybody in that group. Crazy. I think Cooper is the pick regardless, but especially if we land Suh.

Suh has told people that he wants to play on the west coast, preferably for Seattle, but of course they have to pay Wilson. Cole says the Raiders should be the #1 contender for him with cap space and to watch for the overpay. Raiders have to spend that money.

Crazy what's happened to the Lakers. Flipped on the game today and didn't recognize a single player in their starting lineup. Seemed like it'd be pretty hard to fuck up a franchise like the Lakers but Buss' son is doing a fantastic job of doing so.

The Chris Paul trade veto set Jim Buss back. He'll be fine. That deal was absolutely miraculous..he was getting Paul and saving 40M dollars while doing it. It'd be a different story right now if the rest of the league's owners didn't bitch up about a brilliant deal. Minor setback for the major comeback. Lakers can't win it all every year.

This was before them getting Nash and Dwight, correct?

I agree that it probably did set him back, but I don't think that completely justifies the situation he's put the Lakers in.

Chris Paul stares down Kevin Durant, who reminds him he's losing by 20
by James Dator | SB Nation — 5 hours ago

This is the next level of saying "scoreboard" to an opponent. Chris Paul hit a nice jumper, and decided to stare down Kevin Durant. That was unwise. His response: "Now you're down 20, homie."

Durant might be the most entertaining trash talker in the NBA, because it's not trash at all -- dude's just telling the truth. The Clippers were indeed down by 20, and they ended up losing by 23. Durant also dominated this pseudo one-on-one matchup by scoring 29 points to Paul's 18.

Let this be a reminder for anyone planning to stare at KD: if you plan to bring the heat, you best back it up.

Yeah the Paul deal happened a full season before Dwight got there.

What situation has Jim Buss put them in? If you're speaking to the Kobe deal..Jeannie Buss made that deal. Its pretty much the price of winning 5 championships. Jim's getting a raw deal from a lot of people and Stephen A. Smith's loud mouth ass isn't helping any.

Jim Buss is clueless. He's getting the "raw" deal because HE chose to hire Mike Antoni instead of Phil Jackson. Says it all right there. that decision led to the domino effect of Kobe being overplayed causing him to tear his achilles and Dwight being unhappy and leaving LA because Buss chose D'antoni over Dwight

Suck for Okafor/Mudiay. Get a top pick in the draft, grab one of them and hopefully by 2016 the Lakers look like:
    C Marc Gasol or Okafor
    PF Randle
    SF Durant
SG FA or Kobe for one last ride
PG Mudiay or Rondo or Dragic

Clarkson is getting better and better and Marc isn't coming here. I'm looking more towards 2016/2017

Phil wanted complete control and Jim wasn't ready to give up control. How's PJ as a GM working out, lol. My biggest thing is all PJ had to do was the obvious and just MARRIED JEANNIE.

Dude, they offered Jackson the job and he didn't jump on it because he didn't know if he could deal with all the travel. Newsflash, Phil Jackson was old 5 years ago. You think he wouldn't be coaching a team right now if he could? This is the kinda stuff I'm talking about. Irrational Laker fans.
