His tweeting on his account isn't throwing it in anyone's face. He's just saying what he believes. Don't want to hear it then don't follow him, but it should be left at that and no response criticizing it should be needed

Has nothing to do respect or not. It's inherently an inconsistent stance. Like saying God gave you the victory....why cause he, she, it hated the other team?

Okay, I just broke my other taboo which is discuss religion.

For me, if you really are a believer in the redemption of your God....please dont cheapen it by claiming glory be to God for winning the state championship, getting 8 sacks in a game, running for 4 touchdowns and the win, winning the Superbowl. AND saying this all on national or local television, radio or to a reporter for ALL the world to hear how devout and faithful and grateful you are.

Yet this omnipresent and protectful God will kill a family member in a shooting, end your career with a freak accident, make you lose that one important game, or kill you in a car accident....but that's Lucifer at work right? Omnipresent God turned a blind eye there right? To prove a point? Punish you for some reason? Or just randomly because he, it doesnt care or wanted to take the other side?

Athletes can say whatever they want, but to proclaim their love for God so publically only when the good things happen, is just self serving and an advertisement for their own perceived piety....nevermind these guys probably do what "sinners" would do when no cameras are there.....just saying...not everyone, but probably a good chunk.

Okay....flame away. This is my last post on this subject.

I'm not following this idiot anywhere. Posting it on DSP got it on my radar, thus earning my reply.

I don't tweet. Or follow and post tweets of others. I simply do not care that much.

I don't presume that YOU need to learn MY beliefs. It's none of your business. Likewise I do not wish religious hogwash shoved in my face.

Posting religious prattle on DSP sports threads earns one a proper rebuke.

Maybe Irish or Mousey or Rube want to start a thread for "believers of ancient fables" and in such case I'll likely ignore the sermons. Post elsewhere on sports threads and I'll reply as you might expect.

Just because somebody gives glory to God after winning a championship doesn't mean they think He determined the outcome of the game.

They are thanking Him for giving them the means to compete and get to where they are. Glory to Him for the ability, strength, and all the doors He opened for that player to have a chance to win.

JMO. That's what I think players mean when they give glory to God, as opposed to taking credit for their accomplishments. Take at as you want.

I'm not offended or annoyed one bit by this.

I feel i have been invoked/baited to say something here by the unfaithful.
Faith is a path. Not merely belief.
You can believe in the easterbunny but where does that lead? To colored eggs.
A belief is the first step. Yoir belief must then check out. It is tested by where the path takes you. To the positive or the negative.

God doesnt give you a new car.
    Or millions of dollars.
He gives you the strength to overcome any and all kinds of situations. Thats true power.
If you do it yourself you might develop a false sense of pride.
Which leads to vanity and hubris.
Getting too hyper on your own deeds makes you mentally amd emotionally weak.
Giving god the glory is a form of self therapy protection from inflating the ego.
And celebrities need that protection more than most.
That is one of the ways god protects you.
He is like the park ranger of your soul.

Amd he exists in many cultures all over the world.
But all cultures degenerate into religious ideas by the masses who dont want to understand or cant. Either they dont read or dont listen or just take it at the surface.
And end up with pantheism then polytheism and finally self theism.
Which is the last step before their society falls into communism.
Because once everyone thinks they their own god the next step is to be a dog. A slave to a master.
God protects you from that ugliness too.

He says be my slave and you will never have to call another human being master.
But the lord giveth and taketh.
The lord shines the sun and drops the rain on the just and the doers of inequity.
Anyone can call for gods help to overcome. And yeah you may find an extra 5 bucks of gas money in your glove compartment when you broke abd running on empty.
Or find the strenth to overcome the horror of losing your legs or your kids to a car accident.
Or you might find yourself in a situation where you have called to god for power in a cynical way.
Just prattle or words to make others think you are religious or pious or whatever floats yoir boat.
Never really believing and not walking the path of your belief.
Never watering amd caring for that seed of faith and therefore being an idle worshipper.
A surface skimmer just in it for the bennies and never improving your human condition and much less helping others.

One day when its your worst day you call out to god and you get nothing back but the back of the robe.
And then from the corner the other guy sneaks up on you from behind.
    Whispers into your ear.
    And you are screwed.
And sometimes end up in the glory of dying with a barrel in your piehole.

    Prattle.
Those type of people gives love a bad name.
Many religionists are slaves looking for a master.
Jesus before departing sighed to his bards... Please look after the sheep. Because soon the wolves will be coming.
Many are sheep looking to a master to tell them where to run to.
And so a wolf puts on a fancy wool suit and mixes in with the sheep.
The wolf is smart. He kills enough to satiate his hunger but does it discretely. Hence the wool robes of purity he puts on.
Then he goes about creating a governing system to systematically fleece the sheep.
And a circular kirk or rodeo in order to trap more sheep.
Usually with a steeple for the people to see from far away. Like the tall pyramids in egypt would attract flocks of those wishing a pharaoh to govern them to feed them to own them.

Their only hope sometimes are the black sheep. Those han solo types who like you see through the charade and bolt.
But then they meet a skywalker and they learn this little lamb is now a wild mountain bighorn sheep.
And the black sheep together with the shaggy dog and the cabron billy goat and all their furry friends go and take out the big bad wolves.

Because what is life without a mission?
Just a series of trade offs.

You wanna see a wolf in action.
Look at the sheep. They need yoir help not your holier than though self righteous misplaced contempt.
Its easy to hate on the victim when he does something bad or dumb.
If you want to hate then hate on the devil who leads them astray.

    Prattle.

    Boomshakalakaboom.
