If westbrook wants to join in FA next year then great. Otherwise, unless theres a long term commitment, no selling off the future for one guaranteed year of Westbrook.

From the same people that are claiming they've already lost cred?
    Shiiiiiid
But LAL would still have somewhere in the neighborhood of 15MM left in cap space, wouldn't have to go back on Moz/Deng deals

This was the last one I saw on their cap space, after the Black signing

Darius Soriano ‏@forumbluegold 14h14 hours ago
W/ Nick Young still on the roster & Zubac not yet signed, Lakers have approximately $21mil in cap space & are $12mil under the salary floor.

DLo is at 5.34MM for next season.
    Westbrook at 17.7MM
So it looks like about 9MM left after that, but they'd probably have to include Black and/or Nance, so we're still talking roughly 15-16MM after a DLo/Westbrook swap

Especially when you consider all of our first rounders are locked up to other teams in some form or another for the next three years.

They would have to have a good feeling about their ability to build around Westbrook in other ways.
But I'm not about sending more than 1 of our young core anyway.
Keeping Randle, Ingram and Clarkson is enough high end youth around Westbrook, start using the cap space after that, moving pieces around.
Grabbing Westbrook's Bird rights would go a long way

Vertical Sources: Free agent center Zaza Pachulia has agreed to a one-year, $2.9M deal to sign with the Golden State Warriors.

    That was quick

Interesting that Durants contract is 1 plus and opt out. Reportedly at least.

Yeah these elite status guys are doing the 1 and 1 contracts right now, so there's no real security for their teams other than just building the team up around them, keeping the flexibility/options open and those things perhaps keeping them happy.
You take the risk and do what you should do, which is everything possible to win anyway

Nick Friedell on Pau [no homo]-

" Pau's going to give SAS 15-18PPG in that system, but he's going to give up more points than that. He's a very good teammate, extremely good with the media, but what you learn about Pau is the same thing that everyone in LA knew before he got to Chicago. As far as pick and roll defense goes, he wants no part of it, so they're going to have to hide him. He's a one dimensional player in a sense that he'll give you everything he's got offensively, but he wants no part of the gritty, grimy defense night to night. "

    Dirk done with the pay-cuts
Miami offered Wade the same, " stay and suck "
Wade really should go to Milwaukee, they have some damn good young pieces

    In 1975-76, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar avg 27.7pts, 16.9reb, 5.0ast, 4.1blk (69.03 @DraftKings ppg), won the MVP & the Lakers MISSED THE PLAYOFFS

    Westbrook the next Kareem?
Blake the next Magic, following him into the P&G in the summer of 2017?
If CP3 goes to team up with LeBron, maybe Blake leaves LAC?
    Would serve Deandre right.

Yes confirmed. Calderon and 2 2nd rounders to us for the Bulls to clear space.

Joining a 73 win team that just eliminated your team in 7 games has to be one of the biggest bitch moves of all time. It's one thing if OKC was holding Durant back from winning a title, but Durant is the biggest reason OKC didn't advance to the finals. He faded in game 6 and this move proves that he doesn't want to have to be the guy that leads a team to a title. He just wants to be one of the guys and avoid the pressure of having to lead a team. Pathetic. 1 title alone in OKC would have been worth more than 2-3 titles in Golden State, easily. Golden State proved they can win a title without him and would have most likely repeated if Green didn't get suspended for kicking everyone in the nuts. Imagine if LeBron joined Boston instead of Miami after they took out the Cavs. At least LeBron had a valid excuse for leaving....his best players were Mo Williams and Anderson Varejao. KD had a damn good roster with arguably another top 5 player on his team, but KD would rather be carried than carry.
