Ideally an OF who swings right handed and can hit for volume, power, and OBP on an every day basis in the middle of the order.

    Maybe this is Maeda's niche?

JD Martinez should probably be the #1 option that fits that mold. Would be a 2 month commitment only so it shouldn't be a crazy price, he's at a good age, and he's a damn good hitter

    some good stuff
turner hit the ball well a couple times
maeda looked really good in that role
and although hill struggled at times, he gritted it out and had flashes of better command than his past few starts
oh, and kiké hit a homerun on lgbt night

Wonder what plan B is for Bellinger. So much potential, but also so much been wasted on bad AB's. Surely we're close to sending him down for a month or so to work on his K's.

Must eat crow, at least temporarily, on my thoughts about Hill, and Maeda, too.
Hill did get it back even with the maximum pitch format he's in lately.
And Maeda a pretty fine relief job overall.
So, it's crow breakfast for me.
    Long may it kaw..

Hill was improved but still crap.

When he starts breaking off that 12 to 6 curve with consistency I'll pay attention. Until then, he's an annoyance.

I don't know exactly what you mean, dog, but I thought Maeda as a rp a bad decision, and have been ragging on Mr. Blister for a while, and he did manage a win and have a decent 4th & 5th. Even with the 500 pitches...a W is a W.
So, when you should eat the blackbird, and so on...

Maeda in 4 innings 60 pitches and Rich Hill 5 innings with 98 pitches.

    i don't disagree
    command was good at times
other times all over the place
just optimistic he could be figuring shit out
but having him alter his mechanics to avoid blister issues should have been done in the offseason
like @ColoradoKidWitGame said, would be better to have him pitch like he used to and then miss 10 days than this shit

I thought it was pretty clear last year that his newly found form and the blister came hand in hand. I don't know why he didn't spend an hour everyday of the offseason sanding down his fingertips until they were calloused and his fingerprints were gone.
