^ Not happening. Next year; Ethier to LF, Kemp to RF, Victorino to CF. Not signing Hamilton, too big a risk.
So you guys think we should take a risk on Hamilton? Really? Just because I suddenly have money to spend doesn't give me a license to make poor business decisions (not that that's stopped me in the past, but I digress). The guy is a great talent, no doubt. But he is going to want a Pujols/Fielder-type contract -- and he'll probably get it. The money part is only part of the equation -- do you want to be paying him $25MM a year when he's 38, 39, 40? And, oh yeah, we have an OF prospect from Cuba who'll be here a lot sooner than most of us probably anticipated. I doubt he's going to want to sit and rot in the minors if/when he's MLB ready. But yeah, go ahead and continue to criticize and hate me based on prior decisions made under a immoral/unethical ownership reign. You can rip me for Jason Schmidt and Andrew Jones, fine. But failing to acknowledge what I've done recently (Hanley, Shane, Blanton) is pure ignorance and short-sightedness on your parts. So how about you STFU FAGGOTS?!!! Love, Ned
^Hey Ned, how about the 22+ million of dead money on the payroll this year? That's cash going out to guys that are no longer on the team. That's all yours, baby. http://www.truebluela.com/2012/4/5/2927146/2012-dodgers-payroll-opening-day-dead-money
Like I had a choice with Frank in charge. The only way I could sign anyone was to defer money, and I did the best I could given the circumstances. You all seem to forget/ignore that I had Sabathia ready to sign but Frank nixed the deal. Same with Prince until the Tigers got plain stupid when VMart got hurt. I can't undo what I've already done, I can only go forward. Funny how no one says anything good about what I've done lately...
I agree. Maybe he ends up in Boston as a way of rebuilding the team, after they fire Bobby V and finish in the cellar.
