mlb still has to approve. thats an awfully large caveat and the clock is ticking. i predict a massive clusterfuck. hey i'm right already!
Blackstone is trying to merge groups so they have more money to bid up with and their is resistance. One of the articles out there says Caruso could get back in as a minorty bidder in one of the remaining groups. This wasn't Caruso talking but someone trying to drive the price up. It only takes one but I doubt the bid gets to 2 billion without a lot of manipulation by Blackstone.

Thanks guys, I like the look with the conversion to Xenforo and I think that Burch is doing a Helluva job keeping things going smoothly (except for my lost 6K+ posts J/K Danny). It's great to see everyone still here, even those who aren't happy to see me back. In my travels through other Sports Forums it has become obvious that DSP owns the Dodger Community, so DSP is where I belong. Be well Bruthuh, Gary (now located in Colorado Springs)
I can't help but question the validity of the $1.5 billion estimates, let alone a $2 billion estimate. We've seen questionable, highly-public offers of $1.2 billion and now $2.2 billion by people who seem to have disappeared. The "leaked" offers all seem to spawn secretively from the McCourt group. I suppose we will all know soon enough how this game of Bullshit turns out. But in the meantime I basically filter out any numbers I hear, as I still wouldn't be surprised to see this thing sell for sub-$1 billion with parking lots included as Frank tries desperately to extend the deadline.
can i like this twice? really i think you might be the only other one here with that opinion. spank is spinning it imo. and its starting to be more like circling the drain.
These sale estimates seem to be out of nowhere, and quite frankly inappropriate if this is a true "silent auction". Not saying real information can't leak, but fake information can "leak" just as easily in this format, and when the estimates surfacing are 2-3 times higher than any comparable sale of this type ever... I mean, c'mon. Still, time will tell soon enough. Obviously Fuckface is coming at this from every angle possible trying to get one bid out of control. All he needs is one. And if I were a betting man, I'd say he doesn't have it yet.
Perhaps it is time to remind ourselves that Nolan Ryan and his group purchased the Rangers with the parking lots not included. They are now not happy about it but buying the team and not the parking lot and rights has precedent and recent precedent. http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/unfairpark/2011/04/before_this_mornings_court_hea.php
The April 30 payment to Jamie date is a divorce court date and not a BK court date. The April 1 date is part of the agreement to sell with MLB and it requires MLB to approve up to five teams. If they fail to do so you can watch it all go back to Frank and Bud having their lawyers fight and you know how that has been going for Bud. Frank can if forced keep this going for a lot longer time than Bud wants and can afford to pay for. Frank can enter into a loan agreement to pay Jamie off and leverage the new value of the team to do so. He along with other owners have set things up to cover their rear ends and make it difficult to get rid of them.
Why did Frank win the Dodgers to begin with? http://mobile.bloomberg.com/news/20...aseball-attempts-to-oust-mccourt-from-dodgers It was then and is now about money as spelled MEDIA RIGHTS
