Bad news: Alex Wood scratched with left forearm tightness

Good news: Urias is making his debut Friday

@VRP, you gotta find a way to go!

Whoa! There is now something to look forward to for Friday's inevitable loss.

Urias is exciting...whatever, but the scratch of Wood is potentially horrible, horrible news. With an already devastated SR assemblage as it is, this could be prelude to a really bad situation.
Hope it's just a one time miss. If it is more than that, the pressure on this kid could be too much.

Very bummed about Wood though. Forearm tightness to go with elbow tightness earlier this year is scary and he was doing great

They said he's starting Monday, which is good to be confident he's gonna make that start but I agree: Wood looked like a guy you feel good with every 5th day and him being hampered by injury especially in the arm, is not welcome news

Shit, hope it's nothing serious with Wood, he's been doing a great job recently. Excited to see what Urias can do though!

Wood's career numbers @ Citi Field are fairly despicable
    See ya Monday

I was under the impression that they were keeping him at pitch counts in the 50's and 60's, but after looking at it more closely, I see he's had four games with 78-82 pitches. Would be awesome if he can get to the 80s tomorrow.

Hot and humid here...I hope Julio digs that. You would think so.

Not that I'm complaining, but I'm a little surprised they bypassed Zach Lee. He was called up earlier in the season, only to get sent back without throwing a pitch. His numbers for OKC this year have been respectable, at the least. Thought this might have been his opportunity.

Perhaps, they're just looking at this as one start and then back down with Wood still in the rotation, Bolsinger/Stripling as both potential #5 starters, and Ryu on the horizon... and they didn't want to do that to Lee again.

Summer is here - makes my walks to work rather miserable.

Although you'd imagine OKC has probably been fairly unpleasant temperature-wise recently too.

Julio Urias wore No. 78 in spring training. On quick check, low Dodgers numbers currently available: 0, 15, 25, 37, 48, 50

    Gotta go with 15 right?
Would make some sense, after all he was discovered @ 15yo

...or 25 since he's meant to going next after Kershaw. :)

True, but at some point they have to give him a decent shot in the bigs to see if there's anything there or if it's time to cut loose. And I'm not talking about a spot start here or there. His results at OKC on regular schedule are actually pretty good this year. Pull out the 10-run anomaly that came after a 10-day layoff which included a call-up to LA with no action, and his numbers are 6-0, 2.47 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 5.5 K/BB ratio. That's solid enough to earn him a few starts at some point to see if he can take it to the next level.

    Thanks for nothing, fuckers.

Got tix for tonight's Fresno-OKC game, which was supposed to be a Urias start.

Oh well, we can look forward to a couple of SVS rehab ABs.
