    but had the nerds known...

Forsythe is very good vs lefties. He could leadoff or hit 5th. Only vs lefties though.
Vs righties he should be a sub/pinch hitter. There is no pressing need for him to play more.
Belly is better at 1B, sure, we all know that. But if Agon is playing alright then our lineup improves with him playing more. More A-Gon in the lineup means less Forsythe vs righties.

Whoa, nice find! The next time I'm in Tacoma, WA I need to check that place out!

And by "next time" I mean "my first time".

the same reason gonzalez will start at 1b whenever he's deemed healthy
    inexplicable veteran loyalty

Maybe Agon could be our DH for AL games in the AL

    ;)

I was not talking to Blue Mouse about Blue Mouse but about who Blue Mouse quoted initially ;)

Let me know when "ideally" is ever a real thing.
But realistically would you rather have Belly in LF every game where his offense takes a hit, or have him play both positions and stay 'flexible' while taking advantage of his comfort at 1B?
We actually would like him to be comfortable enough in LF and 1B where he hits well from either position. That is why I think a platoon situation where he plays 1B vs lefties helps both him and the team.
But if folks are set against that there is a fix for that too.
Keep Bellinger in LF all the time eventhough he is not as effective in the lineup, and platoon Agon with Forsythe and have 1 pretty good 1B between them.
Agon killed it vs righties last year. If the team protects him by keeping him away from LHP he should produce well.

    he should never leadoff
he's slashing a meager .247/.368/.355 in the leadoff spot and strikes out nearly 30% of the time
taylor, conversely, is .443/.522/.759 in that spot

he's slashing .314/.399/.755 when play 1b vs .207/.276/.430 when playing lf
that's a huge "hit" offensively and it's not a small sample size
agon is not a lock to repeat his 2016 #'s and should not automatically be given the job back
this is the best dodger team i've seen since the late 1970's and they accomplished it all with gonzalez

Leadoff vs lefties, OR I said he could bat 5th.
Check out his leadoff split vs lefties. It is as good as you will find.

He is a veteran that has not been this horrible vs righties in the past so therefore management gives him time to work himself out.
Same with Puig who used to be about equal in his splits until this year where he took a sharp turn. Which for some odd reason has made him into a much more valuable player because he can concentrate on what works.
Joc on the other hand is a young player who has never proved he can hit lefties with any consistency.

I never had a Villar obsession, yall had the Villar obsession so I played into it... but like Christ Taylor I would throw chaff out to the peanut gallery and keep the peanuts for myself and my friends and watch the gallery fall on their faces slippin on the shells.

    can't be that good
and it's nowhere near as good as taylor with a much greater sample size

    still disagree
he's slow, fat, old and unproductive
the team has done exceptionally well without him
might as well let ethier take playing time away from taylor in left
