Exactly. He put up with it long enough to get the huge deal, now he can just disappear into Tomorrow Land and everyone will forget he ever existed 6 years from now.

and you're convinced he was juicing all those years? And yet somehow when everyone else was getting busted his name never came up? He never got indicted?

Because fuck the Angels. Which is why I'm glad the Rangers have suddenly turned a switch and became awesome.

Alright then I think Kemp is on steroids.

The "this person is on steroids because they're good" concept is hands down my least favorite in sports. It's ridiculously unfair, I would say innocent until proven guilty, but it's even worse than that, because those people are charged with a crime. Pujols has done literally nothing but be a HOF caliber player.

for me it has more to do with the era than anything else. well that and the beginning of last year and this year. lets see how it goes.
either way i am certainly glad we didn't tie up all that money in him. just age alone should have made that a no brainer.

All I know is there is no way that ugly physical specimen was born in 1980.

It's just a lazy, unfair argument.

And either way, steroids don't make you go from a .210/.260/.300 player, which is not a major leaguer at 1B, to the best player of a generation and a top 20 player of all time already at 32.

I never said it because he was good. I said it because his head is the size of a 50-pound watermelon.

If it helps, the overwhelming majority does not think he did steroids, so it's doubtful that tarnishes his legacy. On the other hand, if he declines in andruwific fashion... that might tarnish his legacy.

It's completely relevant speculation though if you are talking about handing a guy a $250 million contract.

How would a player of his stature be taking steroids for 12 years and no one come forward and say something, or him not test positive once?

It was also lazy and unfair of Albert to use steroids.

no its not lazy or unfair. he came from that era and put up gawdy numbers then seems to be falling off the table. all sorts of data and numbers to support the likely scenario in which he might have had help from chemicals.
