...so it can knock Kershaw back a day and we can have him for Game 1 vs Boston. we don't need Kershaw against the Marlins anyway. as it's set up now, Kershaw goes in the final game of the 4-game series with the Marlins on the 22nd. anyway, i was just lookin at how the rotation is set and it's set all the way through the Philly series ( for now). so basically if Fife goes in Game 1 vs Miami, it'd mean we can get back home against Boston with Kersh-Nolasco-Ryu going in those 3 games and give ourselves a better chance. if they don't throw Fife and set Kershaw back a start...we'll have Nolasco-Ryu-Capuano going vs Boston. does that mean we'd lose the Boston series?...the way this team is going i can't say it would, but it wouldn't give us the best chance and we need to beat Boston. they talk too much shit about the AGon-CC trade. we need Kershaw on the mound and settin the tone Game 1 of that series.
eh, I don't sweat BOS. It's really not that important of a series. I'm thinking it might be better the less they see our best pitchers, the advantage in the WS is bigger.
Boston strikes out too much for them to have an advantage in a WS matchup against our best arms and we also get a DH at their place, so all 4 of our outfielders get into the lineup. basically, Boston's fucked in a potential WS matchup with us. i just wanna see them get their asses kicked in a scheduled game. i doubt they get past Detroit in the AL. Detroit will be a better matchup for us, although we have a better AL lineup than them too when our lineup is healthy.
didn't mean to give you the idea that i was saying make Fife the 6th starter. i'm talking about a spot start just to slide Kershaw back so he can start Game 1 vs Boston. going into that stretch against nothing but division foes on the road, we need all the wins we can get
I'm going to game one. It would be nice if he started. But I doubt it'll happen unless they decide to go all out and have our best against the Sox.
hope so too. and as much as we should want Kershaw going in Game 1 vs Boston...we really don't need to waste Kershaw's bullets against the Marlins, so that's as big a factor as anything. keep setting the deck and then let the chips fall during the last stretch where we go on the road and play just about everybody in the division to close out the season
I understood what you meant. I disagree, I didn't like it the last time we did it, although it made some sense, but this time, especially with the off day Thursday, I don't think it would be smart. Just my opinion.
