I don't blame Don for this whole season. i thought he did a good job. However what concerns me was what i saw tonight in a pressure cooker game with everything on the line. That 9th inning was horrible managing no matter how you slice it. X's and O's during the games don't matter as much during the regular season but in the playoffs they can make a huge difference in whether you win or lose. Say tonight was game one on the road in a playoff series. The series could be lost right there, just like that. Guess we will see next year. So far we can say he isn't a good big game manager.
Don kills me with the bunting, but other than that most of the stuff is really up to the players IMO. Goodnight all.
Well, I really think DBB has done a good job and 10x the job torre did with his x's and o's. I don't see Donny make fatal decisions that end in disasters on a regular basis like I did with Torre, Johnson, Tracy, Russell, and Little. Maybe DBB looks good to me because he's so much better than those other idiotic morons, but i see lots of opposing managers made bad decisions against us...so all managers do it. DBB just seems to do it less than most I see. Many of his decisions look worse than they are BECAUSE his players are gay. For instance, AJEllis asked to sacbunt tonight. If he does it(which he should be able to right?), and we tie the game (like yesterday when Vic did it and it worked for a run) then it looked like a good call. AJEllis fails miserably and now DBB gets ridiculed.
Upon further review...DBB really fucked that game up last night...just mind boggling really. The IBB to get to Scuturo on the shit was just about as dumb of decision as I've ever seen. The 9th inning was pretty weird too. I'm not into sac-bunts but sometimes they are golden. That situation wasn't ideal because AJEllis was hitting good and doesn't bunt well and there wasn't a great hitter waiting to knock the run in anyway. so yeah, I admit...DBB managed a horrible game. Kemp and Caps are still the biggest problems to me.
The players like Don, and that means something. but the situations he puts us in are terrible and last night has multiple examples. Intentionally walking Pagan, who's been struggling to face Scutaro is a God. Bunting with a guy who hit a HR the AB before in the 9th inning.... are you fucking serious? Doing this once in a while is one thing, but he does this all the time. Definition of insanity.
