Probably something like that....but "a misinterpretation" or a flat out BS spin? The "over bid"statemenet would make PR sense (even though it could be untrue-everyone is going to overbid for an untried pitcher here in the US ML), but it is way less newsworthy and attention grabbing.
I kinda believe it's not about the money to Clayton. I think he knows he's going to be filthy rich so what's a few million spread out over the years? He's got another agenda I think.
