The Tin Man pushed out like the fat kid on the playground. So when he recovers from TJS, they can trade him for Nick Punto. LOL
Wow...talk about a 180. It's amazing what caliber of "journalist" or "sports writer" we have to deal with now. A desperate bunch of mealy-mouthed humps who are about as dependable as a Dee Gordon throw to first. You can't believe shit anymore. I guess no one really gives a shit how about faces like this makes them look; no pride or integrity. Finooks.
I'd bet the hack misinterpreted the statement and what was actually said was something closer to "the Dodgers won't over bid for Tanaka".
Probably something like that....but "a misinterpretation" or a flat out BS spin? The "over bid"statemenet would make PR sense (even though it could be untrue-everyone is going to overbid for an untried pitcher here in the US ML), but it is way less newsworthy and attention grabbing.
I kinda believe it's not about the money to Clayton. I think he knows he's going to be filthy rich so what's a few million spread out over the years? He's got another agenda I think. I think he wants to leverage the Dodgers in charitable directions, which they've always been active in anyway. I could be wrong.
Aghhhh yes the sweet appeal of ethnic oriented marketing. Such a great Dodger skill. Just wait for them to sign a gay Pakistani shortstop.
So you don't like my marital situation or my sons both of whom have probably exceeded your highest personal goals/expectations. Doesn't surprise me so enjoy your life.
Good news is that Tanaka's wife is evidently a celebrity in Japan and May want a career here. That bodes well for us and NY. The TW contract will hopefully be a draw.
