no thanks. Stewart works for Kemp and Kemp could keep him quiet if he wanted to. this story is old and straight from Kemp, so there's equal opportunity here

FYI: Mark Saxon has refuted his own report that we are looking at Pap.

Matt, probably has reached the point that if so many in the media and fans are down on him as they were with others he came up with that pursuing greener grass might be better. Sorta like Martin, Loney, Broxton etc. It happens and Hanley, Beckett and Agon are current teammates who folks elsewhere tired of and are now better off. It happens and everyone has opinions about him and he and Dave are just joining in so we just have to live with it. He certainly isn't the first bringing up the thought of him bring traded. Probably would let him settle back and just play baseball and enjoy doing it. Might be a few of them getting sick of the hometown negativity. First place best record in NL and complaints abound. Sorta funny talk about firing DBB last year and replacing him with Gibson the wonder kid. Yes just a year ago. It seems odd that everyday for a year there are daily stories about him being traded and comments galore about it by fans....... And his agent comments folks want him to shut up? I guess there is logic somehow in that. Got it we can talk about you but don't respond yourself. Just more reason to leave. So perhaps soon the naysayers will be dancing in the streets as Kemp joins many other players who don't play for the same team they came up with. Just another day in the MLB. Baseball players are real living people and not just a card or a fantasy league player people think they control.

And thus the motivation to tell his current town goodbye like others and find a new life like Hanley, Beckett, AGon, Martin, Broxton , Loney etc and a new day and new life with another town and fans. That's what agents are for and yeah he does make 21 million a year so his agent is probably better than yours. Really your post makes Stewart sound pretty good as agents go. Got a broke franchise to over pay for his client by what you obviously consider a wide margin. Same way with his other client Bills. Got him to sign for what was a contract that didn't give the team great returns with the injury. Wonder what Stewart can do with Bills coming off another surgery?

Just remember folks first or last place team, successful or not Matthew Kemp is still going to be paid, isn't like another 120 million dollars? Way to go go Dave, way to go. Better the Dodgers pay part of it and let him play elsewhere so Some Dodger fans will STFU and get over him and go on with their life. Win/win for all.

I'm not surprised...no comment on Saxon; I don't know jack about him.
But if you get the uber-douche Papelbon, who is good this year, for sure, what does it say to Kenley Jansen. Let's face it, that would not be a vote of confidence. Or even further, to Wilson, and League...because Papelbon isn't going to come in in the 6th inning to relieve say, Haren, when he gets tired of throwing HR balls.
I just don't see the fit.
Maybe they realize the team doesn't score that much, even though the team BA is where it is. So they need a shut down guy to hold the 1 run lead in the ninth, and Kenley can just go out there so many times effectively before he breaks down. Maybe that's it.
So it's all bullshit anyway. But you never know.

I think Saxon said a source told him we could look at. We could look at anyone.

I still hold out hope for Matt. Ethier on the other hand....boy let's trade him ASAP.

I'd like to see our everyday OF as Kemp/Crawford (played based on matchups, but mostly Kemp plays) in LF, Joc/Van Slyke CF, Puig in RF. I'd also like to see SVS get more PT at 1st base and pinch-hitting. There is almost no reason he shouldn't have at least 1 AB per game.

My post wasn't doubting his skills to get his client a contract. It was about his constant complaining and made for public quotes about his client being traded. This isn't the first time he's done this and won't be the last. Again....he's playing pretty much everyday and hitting in producing spots in the lineup. So what's the problem? Because he doesn't play CF anymore? Please.

The game of baseball hasn't changed....you produce, you play. Pretty simple. Maybe matts mom can speak to DBB next.

The play at the play is one thing however he was praised for crashing into a wall twice and diving after a ball I after the second time. Great words from the pitcher on the mound. However you prove my point that Matt may feel that after all of this time Dodger fans can't let go it is time to move on like Broxton, Martin and Loney to a fan base it hung on up on emotional history and current deviousness especially when the team is winning. That perhaps will be his recommendation rather than just STFU.

Ummmmmmm come on,how much of the Kemp trade talk comes from him or Stewart, don't you think he gets tired of it and by now a few of them would just rather move on. I mean in some publication it is daily, Colletti and DBB get asked almost daily and you fault him for expressing he I mean he is not a prized possession to only speak when spoken to. Come on when asked a legitimate question about how his client feels is Stewart suppose to say I am not allowed to answer as we have been told to STFU? It wasn't a press conference or a tweet or a blog post. Getter sStewart do the talking or there could really be a meltdown. Imagine what it would be like now if Boras was his agent. Dodger fans might want to count their blessings.

well theres always putting on their big boy pants and doing what they get paid for. i get what you're saying but think it could have been somebody pointing out a flaw in loney and martins case. w matt its a matter of paying attention. anyone who saw him run into the wall could tell he was trying too hard. which is in some ways commendable but not exactly good for the team. when your best isn't getting it done then yes sometimes a change of scenery is best for all involved. blaming it on the fan base is as lame as it gets. why not just call them racists?

Then lame it is and if Matt in your mind is a whiner then you will be happy when he gets traded. Oh yeah go to Fox sports baseball and see the story of the day for now. Yup it us about Kemp being traded and guess what some want it to happen. So whine he shall and lame I shall be and what happens will be. Yes the phrase Kemp Hater gets used often in LA sports circles.

    come on yourself tubie
stewart works for kemp and represents him -- so, and i hate to break this to you, they're essentially one in the same
if kemp doesn't like or disagrees with what stewart is saying, he has the power to shut him up any time
but the random whining and complaining (whenever he doesn't get his way) continues
if kemp wants the starting cf job, there's an easy solution -- fucken play better!!!
until i hear kemp say otherwise, it's safe to presume whatever comes out of stew's mouth is what kemp believes

yeah, it's all so strange to me. I actually do enjoy Kemp having the fire and passion to be like "I'm the best out there and I'm an everyday player" I love that and I'll never get mad at him for having that.

But what's strange is: Why is he saying this right NOW? Why when Don pretty much said Kemp is the everyday LF. WHY, when he hasn't gotten benched in like forever. Why at a time when Don publicly said Carl (who is Kemps only threat to not be an everyday LFer at the moment) would have to be a bench player and Carl didn't complain about it.

Now I understand the desire to play CF, but that part is just pride. Some of that I don't mind or don't care or read into much. But another part is: You're playing EVERYDAY in LF, you can't play CF anymore, and what's best for the team is you as an everyday LF. He isn't losing any money playing in LF.

And yeah maybe all of this is Dave Stewart. Maybe we are wasting our time on some weird tactics by an agent to get his guy to get more money like 7 years down the road. But like Irish said: Kemp has the power to tell this dude to shut up. At one point, when this happens multiple times, you have to believe Kemp is at least okay with it... Maybe doesn't want to say this stuff himself

It all kinda doesn't matter since, as Buster Olney said on ESPN last night, one GM told him that Kemp has the second most untradeable contract in baseball.

People are thrilled to have a player paid $20M ... when he acts like it.

Kemp loafs, gets hurt BECAUSE he loafs, he hasn't hit .300 nor hit 30+ HR's in far too long... so now we're all "Kemp Haters"

He is saying this now because Fox Sports has a front page story about him being a top candidate to be traded at the deadline. Rosenthal has been trying to get him traded for years and he put the question to his agent he answered. Kemp didn't say he wants to be traded do he could play center but that he would be accepting a trade if he was. It is up to Ned. Dodgers need to move one of the three according to the world so why would it surprise anyone if the actual players and their agents have thoughts on it. Amazing!

No you are fans tired of a player who may now be getting your wish. Wouldn't that be a good thing? Your comments answered.
