You do realize that it's on the front page only because of what the agent said, right?

And you really think Rosenthal has wanted him traded? Why? come on

Not so sure about that Tubie...

I for one think that we're far better off wasting 'throws like a girl' Crawford or 'couldn't hit a lefty if his life depended on it' Ethier...

Kemp has serious up side and I'd hate for that to happen elsewhere while the other two are still wearing blue... but he could learn a little humility and STFU too... and that includes Dave 'see I AM a moron' Stewart as well.

    up to ned???
then maybe stewart (ie, kemp) should be talking directly to ned instead of whining through the media
and here's another thing stewart/kemp need to realize... it's not that easy trading an overpaid/unproductive player with millions left on their contract

Much of the handwriting is being written if you don't consider Kemp a center fielder. We have no center fielder on our major league roster. Beautiful routes aside Dre is to slow and sore, SVS isn't fast and is 6'5" not a typical centerfieler built. Pederson is prime and ready to come up. You need a roster spot and if he permanently plays center and Puig in right absent a trade you have Kemp, Dre, SVS and CC to platoon in left. Sorta funny. At this point with the deadline closing in Kemp is being labeled a top candidate. Sure reporters want to know his thoughts. I just don't think his love affair with LA is as great as it was and playing center again is an opportunity he might per Stewart accept. Happens all the time in life we here a change of scenery helps all. Dodgers would have Puig in right, Joc in center and the drama in left minus the annoying whiner Kemp. A win win.

I agree with you and want Matt in left. My response is to what I see as questionable comments like yours about Stewart shutting up considering the big Fox story about the trade deadline featuring Rosenthal plus. Perhaps I am reacting this way is because when I read the quote in MLB Traderumors I bothered to actually go to source seeking context. Ned nay well be weighing offers and Kemps agent is weighing in like agents often do. Gotta earn their bucks. Sorta like hiring a lawyer for settlement, you want them to say something.

What part of Rosenthal and Fox a sports feature today are you missing? See reporters ask questions and quote in the context they want to stir up clicks and reports and it works.

Egads, no I don't because I went to the original source and not the limited reposts.Rosenthal has been reporting sources on kemp being traded since his early says. Boston is one of his favorite landing spots Rosenthals reporting.

    read much?
go back and see what part i highlighted
and reporters quoting things out of context is a bit different than the source saying something for all to hear

Houston failed to sign #1 overall pick Brady Aiken, meaning they get #2 next year and likely their own top 5 pick.

Agree; the guy has become his own worst enemy. Horrible to watch...sad even. A shadow of his former self, albiet rich.

Obviously Kemp has heard the cry to STFU and has responded with what appears to be a FU. So it is now time to set Matt free and let him heal and rebound elsewhere and his supporters to follow him elsewhere as they have done with other ex Dodgers. Will make it simpler for management to handle the roster and give Joc a chance to make or break it for us. Will also help eliminate one more reason for some Dodger fans to be upset and if it makes fans feel better perhaps it is that time for it to happen. Lots of players have serious injuries and fans are unwilling to give them the time to bounce back so they are traded elsewhere. We have gotten players like that as have other teams. Matt seems to be in a good frame of mind about being traded or staying so management probably needs to make some decisions before the break. I mean Dre is on a hot streak right now and had a great game back after the break and CC is healthy and ready to go and SVS has great right/left splits and will all be under contract and back next year. Could bring Joc up and make a second move. We always have Puig who has been on fire of late and really all of the others are more than out performing Kemp and for less money right? As he said in the Times article if I am not wanted than ok I will move on and it appears some fans are saying you are not wanted and he has heard them. Oh well who ever said becareful of what you wish for as you may get it probably has no relevance now.

    Well that doesn't sound good.

@billplunkettocr: #Dodgers Josh Beckett said MRI of hip showed labrum tear, two cysts. Officially "impingement syndrome"

Apparently he still could pitch Tuesday. Regardless, this means we have to trade for another starter.

    Good news...

Beckett on track to start Tuesday in Pittsburgh
by J.P. Hoornstra | Inside the Dodgers -- 30 minutes ago

ST. LOUIS -- Josh Beckett seems unlikely to miss another start after the right-hander threw a bullpen session Saturday morning at Busch Stadium without pain in his left hip.

“I felt like my mechanics were a lot sharper than I was expecting them to be, and the actual feel of the bullpen, also the way my body felt, was better than I thought,” Beckett said.

Drew Butera, who caught Beckett in the bullpen, said “that was as clean as I’ve seen him in a while.”

Beckett tried to pitch through a left hip impingement until he went on the disabled list July 8. He then received a cortisone injection to relieve the pain. Because of how the Dodgers were able to reset their rotation around the four-day All-Star break, Beckett only missed one start.

Paul Maholm pitched admirably in Beckett’s absence, throwing six scoreless innings against the San Diego Padres on July 12. But Maholm seems unlikely to make the start Tuesday in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, which is when Beckett’s turn in the rotation comes up next.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said that Beckett wouldn’t even be on a lower pitch count than usual when he returns.

“We’re always watching him,” Mattingly said. “Him and Danny (Haren) are kind of in the same boat. When they get into a certain range you’re usually, depending on how they got there, the red flags are starting to go off.”

Beckett is 6-5 with a 2.26 earned-run average in 17 starts this season, second on the staff to Clayton Kershaw. He’s averaging a little more than six innings per start.

Beckett is going to pitch but a "torn labrum" doesn't make me confident, we definitely need another pitcher

Fuck it...this season is unravelling quicker than shit, man. I'm tired of KKemp and his big fucking mouth. Go somewhere else and be over rated. With the money they gave him, where does he come off with this attitude...what are his numbers again? For how much?
    Forget it.
The usual bullshit from the Dodgers.
Personally, facing the cruel circus of facts staring us in the face , IMO, is that the Dodgers can't stay with the better teams now, and certainly not later, should they get there .
    No way.

^I get the frustration but we have (had) the best record in the National League! Aesthetically it looks bad but overall offense is off throughout the majors. There are a few guys wasting a spot on this roster right now but we cannot trade guys who aren't playing well because obviously nobody wants them.

Yeah, we're in a bind. If Dre was playing well and Crawford didn't get injured (unless I'm mistaken he was playing really well), we could trade them for some pieces. Not great pieces, but maybe we wouldn't get hosed as much (really nothing you can do when you look at their contracts). But no one has played exceptionally well to grab interest.
