He did, and did the obligatory "what was that for?" trot to first. Atlanta and Cardinal's are so far up each others arses. Kings of baseball etiquette... Unless they're been the scum, of course, then it's fine.
I agree; it is amazing how these douchebags can drill our players over and over and are all bent out of shape when we finally throw back. It took the best pitcher in the game to show how it is done, but it got done. The HBP from the Cards is obvious. Hanley 3 times? It should be over, until the next time we face that POS Kelly. He needs to eat some dirt, at least.
I'm going to vent about this after watching the bloggers pitch a fit about retaliation on twitter and blah blah blah. They are only looking at the immediate statistical loss/gain of hitting a batter and complain that it is just macho bullshit. I'm sorry, but it is not about being macho, it is not about hurting the other guy, it is about sending a message. That message is, if you are going to throw inside(especially up and in) and hit my my guy, I'm going to do the same to you. If a team (like the Cardinals) just so happens to continue hitting our star players, then the same thing should start happening to them. You know why? Because eventually that star player will say, "STOP FUCKING THROWING AT THEM!" Nobody wants to get hit and like we want to protect our stars, they will want to do the same thing. Saying the best retaliation is to strike a guy out is bullshit, the best retaliation is to show that team they can't get away with throwing at your players. If you continue to lie down and take it, they will keep doing it. When you stand up for yourselves and push back, more often than not it will end(see D'Backs last year).
I made a similar post yesterday that didn't make it through the site issues but you said it even better. Now it's known if they hit one of our guys it's going to cost one of their guys. Should have been done the day before. Honestly I didn't really think Kershaw was going to do it but I'm ecstatic that he did. I love that man.
I think Kershaw more than any other pitcher in the league is likely to do it. We've seen him get ejected early now, because he was tired of that shit. Whether most want to believe it or not, many pitchers are checked out during games that they are not involved in. Not Kershaw, he is riding the fence the whole game, when things are getting chippy, the camera normally fixates on him cause he is yelling about it. He is proving to be the ultimate team leader and last night only strengthens that point.
Holliday's reaction to getting hit confirms that he's either a dumb fuck, or he truly believes the Dodgers are incredibly soft. I'm guessing a little of both. Fuck the Cardinals and fuck their "we're classy" bullshit. They sure as hell hit a lot of people "unintentionally". Intentional/unintentional/because your pitching staff fucking sucks balls -- either way it's coming back at you motherfuckers.
does anyone know the stats on which team has hit the most batters? Be nice to know the stats before getting all lathered up because DBB is soooooo soft
i hate the presumed entitlement "we'll hit you whenever we feel like it, but how dare you retaliate!!!" that whole "do as i say/not as i do" mentality fuck that an eye for an eye bkitches would have respected holliday a lot more had he put his head down and jogged to first maybe next time we should drill him in the ribs or wrist fucken spoiled baby
#1) Pittsburgh - 55 #7) St Louis - 39 #24) Dodgers - 27 My biggest issue is that Holliday acted surprised.
I see your point, but lets' face it, it doesn't matter what other teams do or how they act. What we have taken from the shitbirds is beyond toleration, and as posted very well above, it was time to send a message, don't you think? Hitting four players (at least) over the last three meetings in a row with these "holier-than-thou turds, three of them (Hanley twice, obviously) requiring a DL or games missing stint is just a bit too damn much. Enough is enough, and no BS "pitching inside" sham is gonna fly. That's weakness and spin. Whatever one believes, I think Kershaw is on one side of the drawn Alamo line, most definitely. That's good enough for me. And I actually wonder how much DBB has to do with something like that....does he make the call? I don't know. Did Clayton say to him "I'm drilling that fucking jarhead, Skip"? And Mattingly says, "go ahead, boyo". I just think CK does that on his own. If DBB said "no" and came up with some "they have a right to pitch inside" faggotry, CK drills him anyway. No doubt in my mind.
Shut the fuck up you whiney bitches. 31 dodgers have been hit by pitches this year 30 dodger pitches have hit opposing batters no one is taking advantage of your "soft" manager.
the Cards still suck even if they have been hit 53 times so far this season... and Holliday has been 11 times seems a tad light IMO but is the actual delta between their pitchers HPB and their batters HPB... live by the sword... ... and weak ass DBB is still weak ass
