    Your love for Carl Crawford is stronggg. Crawford has a .886 OPS against lefties in 57 plate appearances. 57! That's a small amount, and look at his career against them, it's pretty atrocious. Van Slyke has a 1.016 OPS in 116 Plate appearances and has done well against them in the past. And Adrian has been brutal against lefties this year, so why not say Van Slyke instead of Adrian?

    Van Slyke is clearly the inferior hitter against lefties, even if CC has a little hot streak. I mean it's like this is the only time you've ever seen CC play and like you've absolutely never seen SVS play. Sometimes it won't work out to put SVS ahead of CC against a lefty, but it's the correct choice pretty much 10 out of 10 times.

    a team with this payroll is going to be limited because they depended on Haren/Roberto Hernandez and Carlos Frias for 60% of their games. And because the plan going into the season was a shitty one and destructive one in regards to health.

    and next year we get Dan Haren again and who knows what for another starter!

    Only if he pitches six inning next start. So, hopefully it doesn't get to that.

    But yeah, you can't throw out 60% trash. Pitchers go down, and sometimes it's for longer than the two weeks Ryu is currently at. Need to have guys who can spot start and not give you a bad game.

    I mean, it's Coors, and that inflates everything, but still. You can't be getting beat by bad teams because of your pitching this late in the season with SF on your tail.

    i understand fully that if CC can start against De La Rosa, he can start against lefties period. he's a better outfielder than SVS.
