where's SVS today? if we didn't have Gonzalez at 1B, and we still had Loney..there would be no SVS in LF. SVS would be gettin his ABs at his rightful position..1B.

Fuck Chad Billingsley for putting off surgery when he should've first done it. Could've really used him right about now.

Fuck Ned Colletti for settling for Correia and Hernandez. Now we get to see Peavy start in orange and black every fifth day.

Fuck Mattingly for starting Barney, Rojas, and Federowicz at the same time. Might as well pull the rest of the starters now so everyone can rest.

I'm in a splendid mood today... can you tell?

Maybe some Coors Field magic will work for us and we'll explode for ten runs.

The top 3 was solid, obviously: Kershaw/Greinke/Ryu.

Beyond that the plan was: Dan Haren's second half hopefully is who he is, and let's see how long Josh Beckett can go. And if anything happens to that, Paul Maholm is the backup! Oh, and let's see if Chad Billingsley can come back and help sometime in August.

But what was the plan if this happened: Haren wasn't very good, Beckett got injured, Maholm wasn't very good, and Chad couldn't get healthy. This is what happened, and this was likely. Did they really think Beckett/Chad were for sure gona last all year? And that Haren/Maholm were gonna be good? And that's with an assumption that the top 3 would be fine all year.

So the plan beyond that was what: Hope that Stephen Fife pretends he's good? A minor leaguer steps up to take over? Who though?

Their plan was obviously that if this scenario happened, they would fix it with the trade deadline. And we ended up with Roberto Hernandez and Kevin Correia. And the minor leaguer who stepped up ended up being Carlos Frias, a 26 year old non-prospect.

And sure, you can say it's easy for me to sit here and criticize but what's the other scenario? Well, they could signed someone a lot more dependable then Haren/Beckett. Get some better minor league pitching depth, do something, idk you're a fucking front office of a team with unlimited spending potential. Depending on the health of Beckett/Chad AND the success of Haren/Hernandez/Correia/Maholm is a destructive one. Sure, it's only 2 spots in the rotation but we've seen how easily that can turn to 3 and all of a sudden you cringe at 60% of the games

I'm still laughing and shaking my head over the "this fucking Coors Field sucks" BS you read from everyone. I guess everybody forgets that it's "Coors fucking field" when the Dodgers come up to bat, too...but why can't we even score (well you probably need a hit to do that, right?).
How come only the other team has the raking ability...and certainly not us?
Sure is odd, but that's just me...but it is Coors for both teams, right?

I don't know, I mean he's still young enough to obviously be good but it's not a good sign that the Dodgers would rather put up with this shit rather then give him a chance. And although it is easy to say "Fuck Ned for not giving him a chance and loving veterans!", none of us know that maybe Zach Lee just really sucks and that perhaps our scouts have advised him that he in fact would be worse then what is currently out there. Which would suck :(

To me, he looks as average as any kid down there. Nothing special at all...about as effective as the other wunderkind we all salivated to have come up and kill...what's his name? Oh yeah, Joc Pederson.
I was wondering, is Gurerero and this guy Arruebuena good? they got lots of money right?
    I wonder how they are....

Well not "fuck Ned" for what you wrote because Frias isn't a vet by any means, or maybe you mean Hernandez and that other puke. Then it would sure be true. In my world, I just generically say "fuck Ned"... let's try a different GM. Can he fire himself?
Oh and Lee looks harmless to me. Looks like BP from what I've seen. Slow pitch BP.

You know what makes games like these worse? You end up having to root for the DBags.

Goes back to what I said a few series back. Don't have a clue why the FO didn't get 1 of the 4 major pitchers that were up for grabs this year. It's becoming clear that our prospects, especially the pitching kind, but even guys like Joc, are not ready for prime time and may never be. I know that's a hard assessment to make watching minor league games, but some talents pop up at you....Puig was one last year. Did we have anyone in that category that we weren't willing to part with to shore up a shaky starting lineup in a year that might be the last opening for this team as currently constructed?

I agree with zoo. It's coors fields fault we are getting smashed? How about our pitcher throwing 25 fastballs in a row. Or last night getting 16 hits but only scoring 4 times. I would say it was the umps fault more than it was the stadiums and even that sounds ridiculous. I don't think we can blame coors field for this embarrassment.

10 runs last night and another 13 halfway thru today's game. Way to show up fellas. I have a bad feeling about this series at wrigley....minus the kershaw start of course.
