Not sure if this happens today but I'm in favor of it.

If we move kemp for Grandal + prospects:

Defense gets better in RF, CF and Catcher
Platoon in CF with Joc/Heisey, sort of a platoon in LF with Crawford/Slyke
Grandal starts, Ellis can catch Kershaw
Shed some payroll and then sign Scherzer.

(A lot of people thought of this happens we'd overpay for Lester but it appeared we were never really close)

Can't argue with your overall logic....definitely sound. But I think we still lose offense without Kemp. And I still maintain we don't even get to post to lose as usual without him.
Just as a throw out question...if Seager is that good, and a year away, why can't he come up and get the OJT in the ML...and split time with Ginger, Cuban guys, and even Dee in a pinch? What would the terrible harm be? It's not like he's down there developing a slider or another pitch...plenty of position players have done it. And if there was an injury, he might be up anyway.
    So....?

    shit trade imo
    subtraction by subtraction
unloading your best hitter simply because we have too many OF's
grandal is okay, but i don't see any other teams trying to get him
and, regardless... shouldn't there be other priorities ahead of this?
like, say, maybe another starter, bullpen help, a shortstop?
i would hold off on this deal until the other matters are resolved
i mean, what if philly wants joc in a hamels trade?
now what, an OF of puig/carl/dre? :barf:
as for concerns regarding AJ... he could hit .150 if it keeps kersh happy
and if defense/framing is an issue, sign david ross to catch everyone else
ex-dodger, won't cost much, and a great clubhouse guy

mark my words, trade kemp and it will come back to haunt us...

I'm feeling this. Giants or Yankees. If we f@ck Kemp eventually he will f@ck us.

If we absolutely have to trade him, trade him to Cleveland of f@cking japan because he will come back to Dodger stadium and kill Lasorda or Wallach with a foul ball and then hit a HR that knocks over one of our digital scoreboards.

So you're saying you did not pay any attention to the 2014 regular season?

It's a figure of speech. If the new FO is just getting rid of everyone the old FO signed to long term deals my hope is it nets more than yasmani grandal. Kemp for all of his injury issues and diva moments he's still a productive player who can help this team win.

Better hope the Peterson project doesn't fail. Cause I don't think I could stomach Crawford/Puig/Ethier everyday. And Grandal, whilst an upgrade, better bring the goods.

Rollins deal still not official. I wonder if Eflin is a key piece in a Hamels deal.

I can't wait to read the book on this Winter Meeting years down the line. Surely, somebody will have to write on it.

I really hope Grandal can find his once great potential and become somewhat of the player he always could be.

I also really hope we get Hamels out of this somehow too, I really hope Philly like Zach f'N Eflin.
