Once we get some stability in the rotation I think it'll become clear what we need. Ryu, McCarthy back soon. Wish we had some update on Anderson. They're not bad pitchers, we just need them on the field. It'll be interesting what they do though with Wood now shoving and Maeda pitching well. I still think the main problem is the lineup. Turner a shell of his former self, A-Gon declining, Yaz and Puig being horrible. They'll have to do something creative.
It's not a surprise Cueto is pitching well. He's a good pitcher, and a guy I figured was a potential target if Greinke was too expensive. The issue with Cueto is the health of his elbow. Magically no one ever gets hurts on the Giants though.
anything we get out of ryu or mehcarthy this year will be a bonus but tbh i'm not expecting much seems we're a team with a clear #1 and a bunch of #4's and (mostly) #5's nothing more than a hunch, but i anticipate the following... - ryu will never be as good as he was - kazmir will be dfa'd before his contract expires - wood will have flashes of brilliance, but they will become fewer and farther between - anderson will never pitch for us again - mehcarthy will win less than 10 games total for us, then retire - maeda will be john ely 2.0 - bolsinger and stripling will amount to very little - baez will become a successful closer... once he leaves la on the positive... - kersh will win the cy young this year and next
Quality starters don't cut it. With this offense we need more guys who can pitch complete game shutouts on a regular basis.
Which sucks because our rotation right now resembles the Royals' rotation from last year, but of course they had no CK. This offense is gay.
Especially gay since for some reason they just don't give a damn about the 3 spot's production anymore. Don't know when Turner turned into Schmidt
As of late, now that we can possibly add Wood, yeah. Offense a biiig step down from the '15 Royals' tho, not to mention the pen Pen has been pretty solid, but not Royalsesque
So hoping for Bellinger in LF next year. Joc and possibly Trayce can be other 2 OFs. Puig gotsta go. Puig makes you appreciate the hell out Mondesi.
agreed if they were our #4 and #5 i'd be thrilled but neither should be higher than #3 imo problem is -- as we all agree -- is the offense... or lack thereof can't even score when these guys pitch well consequently they have almost no margin for error when they're not [pitching well] that and the pen (as fall alluded)
Kershaw on pace for 12.5 war Just give this nigga his 2nd MVP and 4th cy young (should be 6th in 6 years)
