The beginning of the end of Adrian in the cleanup spot VS RHP? Lineup is out and he is 5th, should probably be 6th and maybe he would be if Puig had done anything in the last week. Last 7 games for Puig, 30 plate appearances, .107/.167/.143, 2 walks Let's go, pig
Maybe when Forsythe returns to the lineup, Adrian would then move down another slot in the order VS RHP Go with Joc in the leadoff spot. Joc/Corey/Forsythe/JT/Yasmani/Adrian/Toles/Puig
Not thrilled that we aren't riding the hot bat of Taylor right now. Dude raked in ST, was doing a good job of putting the bat on the ball in AAA and has killed the ball thus far since coming up. While Utley has not looked good at all. If this change to his batting mechanics does turn Taylor back into the solid player he was originally projected to be, he could be the cure for the LF problem when Forsythe gets back. Taylor is a much better option in the field at 2B and the team could go with sticking Forsythe in LF.
Really hoping that after this series, the guys pitching Games 3 and 4 (also obviously #2) are locked into the rotation(by earning it of course). Getting some stability 1-4 could go a long way and allow for Hill to try every feasible outlet to figure out his fucking blister problem. Not getting Wood stretched out more in ST is rearing its ugly head as he's definitely running out of gas in these starts. It's going to be cool when he pitches on Wednesday, but at least it is not supposed to be as bad as it was for his Chicago start. The guy at times has looked downright lethal, we just need to get some stability into his usage and hope that it helps him going forward and be a more formidable piece in the rotation. Don't expect him to go ultra deep though, as he is probably only going to get 85-90 pitches as they continue to build him up. With Kershaw and McCarthy continuing their efforts, both Urias and Wood pitching up to their abilities alone could start to right this ship.
I'd love to see stability in the rotation, both because it benefits the team and in the short term, me. I have tickets for the May 16th game in S.F. - 22 games from now - and at the moment, that works out to be Kershaw's spot in the rotation. Really, really hoping nothing screws that up since I've never seen him pitch in person. The good news is there's only one off-day between now and then, but I can't help to expect with this team's injury history that we'll be short a starter and skip a spot that day.
I want to live in a world where Grandal does his strikeout/ HR routine in the 8th spot, with consistent hitters in the middle
