Who in left, Curtis? Fact is, we’re gonna have one player start against lefties who isn’t good against them. And against righties, the lineup is considerably worse
If it is only a 2 game thing, they would’ve just put Seager on roster IMO. You can hide him for 3 days. I think it’s a real injury
Just heard this news.. holy fuck I mean we all knew he was struggling with a nagging injury but... he's STILL far more potent a bat than any replacement Time to step up as a TEAM
It’ll either be Curtis in LF or Charlie at SS. Can see an argument for either one I guess, but I think i prefer starting Curtis in LF. Doesn’t seem like a good idea to try and start Utley/Grandal/Farmer against a lefty because they don’t fit defensively and I don’t think Charlie’s defense at SS is worth his bat. Ugh this sucks
Not necessarily. If you don’t plan on using him for the first two games of this series why handcuff your roster by keeping him on? You’re essentially playing with 24 guys for 2 games. I think if they were completely concerned they would have carried another pitcher IMO. Culberson really has no business on this roster. You have 3 guys on the roster that can play middle infield not including Culberson. If they replace him with Corey later it’s really not going to have an affect with him not being able to be put on the WS roster. It could be a real injury, sure but come game 3 and Corey is still out then I will completely panic.
You think? One might have to be an outright racist to want Charlie Culberson in a post season game over Curtis Granderson. Granderson's been solid against Quintana in minimal ABs, but has had a long history of being a thorn in Lester's ass. The way Dave's been doing his lineups, order probably stays the same except for Grandy maybe being in Corey's 2 spot. Grandy seeing more fastballs isn't a bad thing..didn't want it happen like this, but those are the cards
seems like thats the case most of the year anyway not lessening the loss but i don't think we're dead in the water either we have options if one left handed bay out of the lineup is going to drop us we shouldn't be here at all
and as much as i hate accepting culbersson over corey he's exactly the kind of guy that comes up big in games like this so fingers crossed
I irrationally hate Curtis Granderson. Him vs Lester/Quintana/Anyone will be a disaster idc what the stats say.
I am super upset and frustrated. Wtf did he do to his back? And in a simulated game? He's like 24? Years old, he shouldn't be having back problems
Still have to see if Dave inserts him, but yeah, possibly. Just a reminder, Grandy actually had a near 1.000 OPS over the final 2 weeks of the reg season and was hitting the ball hard even on his outs, having good ABs in general. We'll more than likely see if he can get back to that..highly doubt Culberson is getting any starts, but again, we wait to find out
