Absolutely he can, as long as he makes good decisions but if he tries more of that Carlos Lee bullshit then fuck no.
^A arguement can be made that just because a trade is speculated on that it just could be bullshit. I found it interesting that Ramona mentions that we could have gotten CC Sabathia but McCourt nixed the deal.
He definitely can. Unfortunately, I expect he will make a deal this off-season that we will regret in 4 or 5 years. Josh Hamilton. Particularly if Greinke ends up re-signing with the A-Holes, I expect Ned to give a Pujols-type deal to Hamilton. Personally, I would go no farther than 6 years and $150-160M with vesting options on a 7th and 8th year based on PAs.
This little tidbit catch ANYONE'S eye? I mean alot of detractors point ot Santana as a huge mistake and yet it wasn't his fault. In fact, the Dodgers' biggest whiff -- the most impactful trade they could have made but were not given the financial authority to do so by McCourt -- came in 2008, nearly 18 months before McCourt filed for divorce. That was the year the Dodgers believed they had a deal in place to send five prospects -- none of whom were highly touted catching prospect Carlos Santana -- to the Cleveland Indians for CC Sabathia, Casey Blake and Jamey Carroll.
Absolutely, we gotta win first and continue making great moves. TBH, the guy has a likeable personality, he just has to deliver. There are no excuses now with ownership now. They ain't fuckin' around.
not his fault. I don't hate in him for that. We all know there was a mandate from ownership saying no more salary. Sabathia wanted to be here now shit like Pierre, Uribe, Schmidt Jones is fair game.
Let me say this. He has fucked the pooch more than a few times. I personally want D. Evans back. However, I am willing to give him a year to see what he can do with the new management. I wanted McCourt to die before, now I want him to become a quadriplegic dropped off in the desert with no water in sight. I hate that motherfucker for what he has done to this team.
Well, most of us are not hating Ned as much this month because of the Ramirez trade and recent trade rumors, but then you see Harang out there getting shelled and I thought, well that's going to happen to most bottom of the rotation starters...so OK, but then I think...man Ned gave this guy a 2 year deal over $3M per...damn it!
