Adrian Gonzalez refused to stay with Dodgers at Trump Hotel in Chicago The Dodgers' slugger made accommodations to stay elsewhere during that trip By Lindsey FoltinOct 17, 2016 at 11:41a ET When the Dodgers faced the Cubs in Chicago for a regular-season series back in May, the team stayed at the Trump International Hotel and Tower -- except for first baseman Adrian Gonzalez. The Dodgers' slugger made accommodations to stay elsewhere during that trip, presumably because the hotel is owned by Donald Trump, according toJP Hoornstra of the Long Beach Press-Telegram. “I didn’t stay there,” Adrian Gonzalez confirmed. “I had my reasons.” It's assumed that Gonzalez's reasons include an obvious conflict with the Trump, the Republican presidential nominee. Gonzalez is Mexican-American, and one of Trump's campaign platforms includes a promise to "build a wall" on the Mexican border to keep illegal immigrants from entering the U.S. It's obvious why Gonzalez, who has deep Mexican roots and is involved in numerous charitable efforts in Mexico, would decline to support a business owned by Trump, but the Dodgers star would not divulge his reasoning for not staying at the team hotel in May. Gonzalez smiled ... saying, “We’re here to play baseball not talk politics.” While the Trump International Hotel and Tower has been the Dodgers' team hotel in Chicago for years, they did not stay there during their trip for the NLCS for logistical reasons, according to the team
why'd he leave? trump would have had him deported from the hotel anyway or built a wall around his hotel room
Of course the contrived part of the story was that this happened months ago it just wasn't newsworthy until this week #mediawhores
I think I want Trump to win just because all the retarded untalented Hollywood jerkoffs love Hilary. Either way a horrible human being will be president. Might as well piss off the libtards like Bill Mhar, Steven Colbert, Sarah Silverman, Zack Galifanakis, etc. at least.
Trump is just an idiot. Is what it is. But Hillary...the way she tries to play the voice of reason and stand on a moral high ground is so disingenuous, fake, ironic, and insulting. Cringeworthy. She's the worst human being. And there's not even a redeeming quality in her policy to consider her.
I do my best not to get too serious about things. But that it's come down to these two is disgusting. We are truly in the toilet.
I'm not old enough to have lived through other presidents. Obama seems to me like he hasn't kept his promises. I don't like Hilary because she tells lies, but I don't like Trump because I don't think he understands how politics work. Is it really as bad as it seems or is it like this every four years?
No, its just towards the end of an empire. People forget that Rome had an African-Roman Ceasar too. One that was born in Africa.
This seems worse than usual. It feels like the final stretch in the race to the bottom of a democracy slowly corrupting itself.
At the fall of the Roman Empire, women would sit in the public square and have their pubic hair cut into shapes and designs. I can't wait for the modern equivalent, as we head full tilt into the time of the End Days...hallelujah!
It's the worst ever, young Sal. To put a positive spin on things, it can only get better (hopefully) in four years. I've completely given up on my home state of Calif. Do-nothing fuck politicians who let the voters decide many crucial issues via the Proposition route because they're too gutless to confront them.
It's like this every four years. The only thing unique about this year is that one candidate is completely incompetent - but in general, there is so much mud slinging that by the end of an election you come to hate both candidates. You will hear "I don't really like either candidate, so I will vote for the lesser of two evils" every four years, without fail. At the end of the day this isn't a sign of doom. This country will survive with either as president. Hell, I even like one of the candidates. But I say buckle up for this happening every four years. The system is set up so that it's hard for one asshole to mess it up completely, but the nature of politics is such that you have to be an asshole to make it to the top.
