I mean it all depends but I can see myself being fine with trading Bellinger cause I'm of the opinion that 1B are the easiest to make someone play at

Lucroy's contract is so bad he had to ask for something, it would be dumb not to. But overplaying his hand doesn't help himself, plus he rots in Milwakee. He must have the shittiest agent in MLB.

So the Indians get Miller from the Yankees for 4 players/prospects. Wonder what these prospects are like compared to Urias, Bellinger, Verdugo, De Leon, etc.

Frazier is like Verdugo. Sheffield is like De Leon or Holmes imo

Wow, for a relief pitcher. And to top it off, Lucroy vetoes his trade to the Indians.

Still, I wish we were doing something. We have a lot of holes to fill right now.

Hot take: I don't want Sale. His FB velo has been down 1.5 mph all season and his FIP is high as well. Doesn't bode well for the future

Who's left then? Continue the Urias experiment? No one ready on the bat side to move up is there?

Stand pat for this year and chalk it up to a learning experience especially with Kershaw down.

He still has the potential to be a #2.

We don't need to trade for potential. We have potential.

He's good now and could be great. I'm willing to part with prospects (not Urias) for that.

Ok, Urias is NOT an experiment, he's a work in progress.

    At 19, he has a 4.69 ERA in 40 innings and a 3.31 FIP.

    At 20, Kershaw had a 4.26 ERA in 107 innings and a 4.08 FIP.

So we should have traded Kershaw when he was an 'experiment'?

It's pretty much a given by baseball people everywhere that this kid has all the tools to be a star. He just has to stay healthy and continue to develop. Is that a gamble? Yes, every thing is a gamble. It would be a bigger gamble to give up on him for pieces that might help short term.

I didn't mean trade him. I was asking a legitimate question. Right now it doesn't look like we are going to get any impact players this deadline. So do we bring people up now? If we're getting injured left and right and the offense isn't doing anything, can we bring anyone up that can actually help.

Pretty fucked up how they were saying that even if we did get Lucroy it would be for a quick flip bc gawd knows The Framer is the most awesomest pitcher since Liberace.

Maybe they could've gotten some goodies for Lucroy and packaged them in a deal for Christipher Sale, Archer, etc.

That's how I was looking at it.

My old three team stroke scenario had Chi, Cincy and us pulling off a blockbuster that landed us Bruce and Sale. LOL.
