I'm a huge Ethier fan ever since his 2009 season but I would be for trading him in the right deal. I wouldn't trade him now unless we got a huge return though. He's our most consistent hitter IMO. Kemp and Crawford were hurt, who knows if Gonzo or Hanley will ever be their old selves, and AJ and Cruz could fall off any day. With Ethier at least you know you're probably getting at least an .800 OPS.

In a perfect world Ethier has a great year, we trade him for a nice return, and Puig is ready to take over right field.

with Morse being available by Washington, I think its safe to close this thread and assure that's Seattle's main target right now...

sure not, but you could expect his price to be lower than Ethier's...

Should trade Elbert and a B-/C+ spect for Morse. He can spell A-Gon at first once in a while, and play the OF in pretty much every game vs LHP for either Dre or CC. And DH. Plus if CC sucks he can play LF full time.

and what would Washington do with him??? Their OF is set (Werth, Span and some kid named Harper that I've never heard of but some people say is pretty good)... and to involve a 3rd team is also tough cuz Morse is a lot cheaper than Ethier, so why would someone get in the middle as prospects or pieces provider to fill Wash request to end up with the more expensive player in the deal but not necessarily the best... doesnt work that way...

Well, for one Elbert is a reliever and not an outfielder...

I know morse has no option but I bet the Nats try to trade him to a team that'd play him everyday given that the reason they are trading him is to not have him on the bench. Also, I think it'd need to be Paco and not Elbert since Elbert basically doesn't have an elbow

Well we can't deal Paco, unless we PTBNL him. I know they're looking for a LH RP for Morse, and he'd be a perfect fit for us. But yeah, I guess other teams could easily top anything we could put together.

I wouldn't rule out a deal with Seattle, or someone else until Bourn signs elsewhere.

Upton turns down a deal to Seattle, maybe they come back to Ned again. We'll see.

Funny how ready to ejaculate a power load this thread was a short time ago, and now it's as flaccid as Flip Wilson's erection before the pump.
Sometimes , it's the calm before the storm, though...
