4/70? No how no way. 5/100 way more likely.

If he is 4/$72M, I wouldn't even hesitate and would sign him NOW.

You won't be laughing after you see what he gets, unless it is from the Giants. So what do you think Scherzer will get BTW?

    :worried:

hard to say with the Yankees ducking the luxury tax. Giants offered Lester 7yrs/168M. maybe the Giants would offer 7yrs/175M to Scherzer..at which point i think Detroit ends up outbidding them. i'll say north of 180M over 7yrs.

It WILL be over 200 i guarantee it. He already turned down 6/144 from the Tigers so I don't think they'll offer anything to him. I think he will end up in Chicago

I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole at over 200. 7/180 tops, It's why I don't think we sign him. Friedman isn't going to want to give him 7-8 years.

at this rate, because it seems like our FO is hell-bent on keeping their draft picks and continuing to stock the farm, i think we should be hoping for Cincy to trade Cueto elsewhere at next year's deadline..that way he gets no QO attached to him come free agency after next season. so basically we just hope Cincy continues to suck balls next year. to that point, i wonder if they'd look to deal Chapman as well. Chapman to Kenley..yeeeesh. Lol

but Detroit's gonna be going for it so long as they have Miggy, so Price will probably get a QO from them whether they still have Scherzer or not.

still would work out pretty well. as a righty Cueto could replace the balance that Greinke brings to the top of the rotation and he's 2 and a half years younger than Greinke.

Not saying he is even an afterthought to the Dodgers but with Borass as his agent it will be 200.

Oh I won't be laughing if/when he signs with the Giants for some stupid amount. Why you ask? Because he'll really turn into "Big Game" James then.

I feel as if Boras is gonna get some team to do it. He's so fucking good. He makes owners pay the fuck up instead of acting cheap.

I can see him getting Toronto to go big. I mean, those fuckers have the money and they have a need for pitching to go with that offense.

I don't think Scherzer gets $200M... I 'd say in the 7/$175M, in which I'd be interested in.

Starlin Castro is being held questioned in the Dominican Republic regarding a night club shooting. Per ESPN.

Sounds like Castro needs to change up his choice of friends.

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...t-report-in-club-shooting-20141227-story.html
According to a report from Dominican newspaper El Caribe, six people were injured in the Friday night shooting in Castro's hometown of Montecristi after a fight that involved Castro’s brother and bodyguards. The report said Castro was arrested, but agent Paul Kinzer said Castro "wasn’t involved" at all.

Yes and no as there interest in moving him may have peaked but others interest in trading for him may have diminished. This isn't the first shooting around him this off season.

the following is from the previously posted link:
It was the second time in a month that Castro had been questioned in a shooting in the Dominican Republic. The first incident took place three weeks ago outside a concert. Castro was questioned but cleared of any involvement, Kinzer said.

    Ethier/Crawford League and cash?
Then flip him for a reliever or prospects.
