What's even more astounding about Latos is not so much that he is a scumbag...that's is well documented, evidently. It's that he stands up there after getting pretty much tattooed by hitter after hitter, and grouses about being lifted...at a time when it was a closer divisional race than it certainly is now. And for his "release point " reason...a total lack of respect for anyone's intelligence at all, especially his manager and pitching coach. Why would anyone let a pitcher under those circumstances get his team buried under a deluge of runs immediately? And yet, there are people whom deny what they see, and think he is doing pretty well...stats from another time I guess. We'll see how it all comes down tonight...I surely don't like him against guys like Calhoun.
Overheard at a diner from a Angels fan: What MLB did was illegal moving the Astros out of the division to the AL West. They would be in first place in the NL West. :applause::applause::applause::lolup: Sometimes I just can't.
Never happen, although it makes perfect sense. But: BP sucks; Mattingly afraid and has learning disability; also physically afraid of Kershaw and guys like Latos who threaten him with severe beatings if he takes them out; "player's manager" and all that shit. Only explanation possible. Let Kershaw have as many pitches as humanly possible for the playoff run, should we make it. I think he should shoot for most pitches ever in a season...another award possibility. But playing a guy who was batting over .500 is brilliant.
lol at that angels fan first off, astros haven't been in the west since 1993 (pre-wildcard) and at 75-64, they'd be in 2nd 5½ games behind us good news though... at 69-69, there isn't a division the angels would be competitive in
Of course I have to go to this game. Bad enough it's in Anaheim but this garbage pitching matchup is just the icing on the bad part of a cake (in the words of DBB)
Since allowing just one run in six innings in his Dodgers debut, Fat Latos has given up 17 runs and 26 hits in 17⅓ innings :lowscore::latos:
They didn't know that this would happen, but I'm pretty glad in retrospect that the a Dodgers traded for Utley given that Enrique and Peraza got injured shortly after that. Right now we'd have Callaspo or Guerrero at 3B and praying Turner could play 2B, or maybe Darwin Barney at 2B, yikes.
Eric Stephen @truebluela 3m3 minutes ago Mat Latos scratched with neck stiffness. Joe Wieland starts for the Dodgers tonight
