Watching the postgame for the Braves, guy just said "The Dodgers are an outstanding team, we should not be the least bit upset about losing to a team of that caliber" made me smile big time.
Is that square business...is that all it was? All hail Luis Cruz. damn, we coulda had a sweep...shoulda had a sweep. Coulda been contendas. great road trip. I really hope Matt and Dre wake up -TONITE- on the plane back. Need all firepower blazing.
I was watching the Brave feed on TBS and the Dodger feed on my Pad and the Brave announcers were very complementary of us. Very. You would think we are a dynasty in the making. That probably as a lot to do with their familiarity and respect for Kasten. The Nats series will probably be an even greater love fest.
Cruz is really interesting as a candidate for our full time 3rd baseman and a good one at that. It is clear the Padres and Pirates screwed him up and he went back to his old self and is now prospering. It is possible he is the real deal.
He could be this good. His hitting style was changed and now he is back to what he was and we will see what that could be.
Great again by Chad. Major props. Amazing road trip. Good stuff from the Padres. Hopefully we can put the pedal on tomorrow. Gonna be a tough series. Tough matchups. Seeing Kemp go 0-14 is hard to watch though. Damn. Perhaps I am selfish but it's fun having a top 3 player in baseball prove that he is one night in and night out. Everyone goes through slumps, I know. But it needs to END tomorrow. Simply has to. No excuses. You wanna be considered for MVP every year? Put the team on your back in the heat of a pennant race.
It is known as the "Sampson syndrome"...a medical oddity, but fact. It is because his strength is in his beard. He must not shave it. Ever. He is from Defiance , Ohio.
He's fine and will be starting tomorrow. It was cramps. Wasn't hydrated. edit: I see a couple people beat me to it.
Chad is having better results because he is pitching better. Beating the luck thing into the ground. Sure, he may have had some bad luck on balls put in play, but ultimately he got whacked around all the time. He was inefficient. He missed his spots even when he got outs. He had no trust in himself. He was throwing too many cutters. Ask Honeycutt why Chad is doing better. I'm sure it will have a hell lot more to do with his change in pitch selection, command, and approach.
Instead of asking Honeycutt, I will continue to defer to keyboard psychiatrists who are aware of everything happening in Billingsley's mind
You know as well as I that I've watched every Billingsley start this year, and my opinion about him has varied very little
Moving onto the SF series: Kid K vs Bumgarner: I'll take my chances with best LHP in the game. Blanton vs Likesthecum: No idea, take the over on this one. Caps vs Cain: Very interesting matchup, but Caps is money at the Ravine.
