so wtf? Ruiz is cleanup? He better have some of that magic playoff mojo working. Adrian is falling fast, Howie is batting ahead of him now.
What's the point of this Dave? "The lovable rookie manager gets cute and comes up with a crazy winning lineup"? C'mon....
I think he knows we have no shot and is stacking the top 5 spots of the order with the only 5 guys with a shot at some hits?
I gotta believe Maeda is on a real short leash, and even if DR is saying Kershaw will not pitch absolutely, he's gotta be thinking desperation mode might change the dynamic like Game 5 against the Nats. Win this and throw caution to the wind in 6 and 7.
Well if recent history is any guide, after the Game 1 fiasco, we won the next two. After last night, we are due a win. Got to hold onto something.
I've read that " house money" phrasing as many times as " crap shoot"...I feel compelled to ask...if you haven't been to the WS in 28 years, you are really playing with house money? I mean, I'm not arguing your usage of it, wtv...but how can you be a loser team for so long and be playing with house money? If the Sfags got in, with 3 out of 5 in the bag...that's house money, no? I guess it's not a bad attitude to have, because if we lose, we just say..."we were playing with house money...shouldn't have been there in the first place"... Sure seems to me though, it's about time we came up aces- for once. Yeah...for once. Just wondering...
Not saying it is acceptable to have a 28 year drought. It's the dichotomy between the state of the team at the all star break and where we are now, with a couple of months without Kershaw on top. I don't think ANYONE thought we'd even be close to this situation, and we're still in it. To me, that is house money.
i've already accepted tonight's loss throwing kike back out there is as annoying as it is futile we're going to lose and lose badly like 12-1 badly
Something tells me DR setup the lineup this way because he wants to be prepared to sub PHs for the pitcher's spot given he expects using a lot of relievers. At least you can sub position players in as needed in various spots that might have some pop in their bats. I know, wishful thinking, it's the only explanation I can think of.
I have a feeling that has something to do with it. The "replaceable" guys are shuffled throughout the lineup so when it's time to pinch hit there will be options for double switches etc...
