It apparently isn't bad. He felt he could still pitch with it, but since we have the new 10 game DL, the team decided to just do that. Fucking annoying, but it's a good sign that he felt he could still go.
RE: Hill A little sooner than expected but here is the first one of the season.... wait for it..... FUCKTARD GENIUS ON DISPLAY
What? Just 75 pitches gave him a blister? What happens when we need him for 105? Good point and glad to hear that, but it still makes me think that his next start would've shelved him for sure.
Don't know, but I know what's happening to his ass next year when Otani lands and takes his rotation spot
So I am curious, because Otani is 22, does that mean we are screwed from signing him because of the new IFA rules?
I actually don't mind this. With the 10 day DL, the Dodgers can effectively use Wood to spell any of the rotation guys and call up a guy like they did in Fields to fill his spot in the bullie. So basically MGT is going to utilize a 6 man rotation with the help of the 10 day DL.
July 2, hard cap era for INT FAs begins for everyone in MLB. His club agreed to give him all the power when he signed back then, agreed to let him out of his deal whenever he was ready, so Otani will be posted by his team and he'll get to pick his spot. And from everything I've read/heard, Dodgers are the favorites to land Otani by a wide margin, were his choice as a high schooler before he chose to sign/stay in Japan and be a star rather than deal with minor league life in america. http://www.baseballamerica.com/international/2017-18-international-bonus-pools/#josAVedxKE7Ya33E.97
Am I reading that right? It says Dodgers are limited to offering a max of $300k (for one more year), while some other teams can go as high as $5.75M. How can they be the favorite to sign him with that big of a difference?
You read it correctly, LAD was in the penalty under the last CBA and remains there under the new, but now everyone else is capped as well, so the new rules have leveled the spending to a degree. Overall, both Otani and his club are losing out on big money in general ( 200M+) with this decision to come over early, however, his club has already made a pretty penny off his star in Japan and so has he. All to say, that it's not a money decision for Otani..the money decision would be to stay until he's 25 and collect 200M.
i don't like Seager sitting, but understand it, but do like Joc starting and Adrian sitting versus the lefty. So, this lineup is pretty cool to me. Gotta get all of these righties + Joc a chance to break out against lefties
