Fucked up man
I was a big fan of Ron Harper.
I went to a lot of Clipper games during that era.
All I had to do was call up Big Ben or Big Joe or any of the other radio sports hosts that don't ever go in front of cameras.
No waiting much on hold either, just through commercial or something.
Then boom free tickets to pretty much any clippers game.
Watching half crippled Ron Harper was as close as I was gonna get to watch a Michael Jordan type player on a regular basis.
Harper was an amazing talent
feel free to delete this i was just up late fighting off a fever and couldn't help myself
Fuck 'em if they can't take a joke.
The path is clear for this now. What a trade.
C : Barnes/Smith
And i'm not that sure about Harper really.
The Dodgers could trade for a LF that can mash that won't put the team in a financial position to not spend on more pitching.
Then there is DJ Peters who could be another Muncy and is ready to play LF. Edwin Rios is another big mash potential guy who is ready and has been looking good playing the OF this past season says the guy who writes the bio on his page. And of course there's always a Toles a stone's throw away.
Miami wants to much for Realmuto and the Dodgers are already the top bidder. They should wait them out into next season.
Will Smith is ready for the MLB and could take Barnes job. The team is too rich in catching prospects to invest what Miami is asking.
There are two top lottery ticket prospects with one ready to go and other a season away. There are two other good prospects in the organization plus Austin Barnes who has shown he is a near all star level MLB catcher when healthy. He was hurt in ST last year and never recovered.
If push comes to shove and its middle of the season and these two aren't cutting it them you make a trade for Ralmuto or any of the other catchers that will become available and the price will be cheaper.
Lowrie can be signed inexpensively and is another solid veteran do things the right way type the team likes in this position. Kike and Taylor offer more than enough depth. Plus in a year or two Lux and baby Jeter will be up and that will be exciting. I have been looking forward to Lux but damn I really would love to have a prospect like Jeter make it. Having a guy with his combination of tools with the bat and the ability to dominate on the bases gives the team an important weapon it has lacked for a long time. A true leadoff hitter.
Jeter was worth Yasiel. Even though I know that Puig will dominate as a dirty Red commy.
In fact I summon Irish to create an image of Puig in red Che garb.
Fat Joc has something... and the team already lost one mascot in Puig. Plus the fans need one starting player who they can root for or feel sorry for or superior to all at the same time. But if his fat ass can't carry his weight then fuck his candy ass because bad boy Verdugo is coming hard like bull for the slowest heifer or plumpiest young calf caught slipping grazing the outfield.
Freese and Kike round out the bench with guys like Toles, Rios, Beaty, and Peters as the fringe roster call up 25th man guys.
One of those fringe guys always seems to break out and have a huge season due to a starter not cutting it or getting cut on.
Dodgers spend big on premiere level pitching for both the rotation and the bullpen through trades or FA this offseason.
And continue to focus on homegrown high level prospect talent with a few superstar FA sprinkled around and a steady dose of veteran hitters/role models and solid roleplayers who you take a chance on because they have a latent moneyball gene the nerds can exploit that sometimes causes them to play like superstars for an extended period of time when they may have previously been more mediocre than good. This is the new Dodgers way.
sure but he coulda done better
more i think about it the less i want this guy
maybe on a four year contract
but if its 30 mil per lets keep it to the least amount of years
One guy reported that we are on the 20 yard line with him. I WILL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT.
Red zone is always more difficult. I hope we don’t punt.
Does that mean we are looking to kick a field goal and get him for 3 years?
I'm good with that. 3 years l, 150 million. Make it happen
