Plenty of praise for his make up/how he grew up in the Yankees' clubhouse because of course his old man had a 3yr run with the Yanks when they were full steam ahead in the late 90's

Really liked that pick, high upside, put up some big numbers in CC
Big kid too, 6'6" with athletic frame

    pretty promising
hopefully a lot will come naturally for guys like calhoun, mieses and rios with growth/maturity
i think cruz and peters could be the true sleepers that people suddenly say "where did this guy come from" type stuff
really like the abundance of young arms the nerds have assembled

Badler really praised the culture and development the new front office has built. It will be fun to see who "breaks out" next year as there have been a few each of the last 2 seasons that seemingly came out of nowhere to be big head turners. If you look since they started the new developmental stuff since the new FO took over, the busts have really dropped from what we saw in the past where a kid would have a good year and then fall off the map. What we've had are guys that took a solid step forward 2 years ago, suddenly took bigger steps the next year and it has continued. Naturally you always have some that will drop off, but the numbers on success right now seem very out-of-the-ordinary. The next key going forward are more guys coming to the NL having continued success. Say De Leon and Bellinger come up and both do really well and guys like Seager, Toles, Urias, Stewart and Dayton continue their progress from last season. Suddenly teams will look at the Dodgers farm and go "oh... well I may not be able to get Buehler in a deal, but that Mitchell White kid is crushing it, I wonder if I can snag him instead." That may be an extreme, but the point is, these teams see how well guys are developing and suddenly one of our lower end prospects putting in a good season could catch the eye of a team and lessen the upper level bounty in trades. Not saying that it will happen, but if the situations continue to play out like this, you could see teams more willing to make deals with us where quantity over quality is more of the return.

they seem intent on having the best farm system
something the dodgers used to be known for
and somehow they're managing to do it while staying competitive in the present
pretty amazing when you think about it

Most teams probably don't have this kind of depth, but you could make a list of just the Top 10 pitching prospects, and have some really good ones left off.

    1. Alvarez
    2. De Leon*
    3. Buehler
    4. Stewart*
    5. Sheffield
    6. Sborz*
    7. De Jong*
    8. Abdullah
    9. Oaks* (doesn't really profile as a starter long-term, otherwise he'd be higher given his proximity to the bigs)
    10. White

*will start 2017 in AA or AAA, if not in the bigs.
Their are arguments to be made within the bottom 4 or so, but that's not the point.

Notable omissions: Jacob Rhame, Dustin May, Andrew Sopko, Caleb Ferguson (late pick in 2014, took a huge step last year), among others.

That is some great depth, with a huge chunk already at the upper levels. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out and where everyone ends up.
