Same, would need to see the package coming back for Calhoun before getting too mad.

That was the other shoe I was afraid of. All of this talk has been what we might get, very little on what we had to pay.

I don't think the Reds are gonna bite on straight Puig for Bruce trade, unless the mythic third team is going to add a prospect. Then what would we have to give to the third team.

To me, a third team only makes sense if in addition to Bruce, we also get an arm or another bat, which means Puig and prospects getting split between the Reds and this other team.

I bet that's why Puig and the possible third team are involved.

So while we kind of meander along and the Giants continue to struggle, the Rockies are on an absolute tear and may no longer be sellers at the deadline. Just about everything about the team is clicking and they are getting production from top rated prospects. So while the D'Backs and Padres may be dumpster fires down the stretch, the Rockies could shockingly pose to be a problem. Entire offense is clicking outside of a deep funk Arenado and their young pitching has been stellar. Could be a dog fight down to the wire.

Would guess that a deal is not close since all of the Dodgers top hitting prospects are still playing and Bruce is in the lineup as well for the Reds. Team could have used the excuse of Rios or Curletta called up to sit anyone.

Yeah Bellinger is the guy with the most upside among them, could bring power to any of the corner spots whether it be OF or IF ( outside of 3B) and he's even seen time in CF.
Too much value there, too much goin on.

I really like Calhoun but without a definite position he's slightly more expandable
Bruce for Calhoun straight up would be tough even (sound like a huge prospect whore but Bruce has a 0.9 WAR he's not exactly Trout)

Calhoun has worked hard to remain at 2B, I believe that he will develop into an acceptable player at the position.

Said it before, if LAD leaves this deadline with Puig set as their RFer I'm droppin my personal FO grade 2 full letter grades immediately...
    Don't tease me, bro.
Now, comes word that ATL could serve as the 3rd team...our old friend Hart who helped us net Trayce and Wood.
Puig might be a fit there, opening a new ballpark for the Braves and maybe his act brings fans out?
No, but at the very least they have to 60 day DL Puig if it's just impossible to deal him right now.
    Toles before hoes.

Easily would trade Calhoun for Bruce. Verdugo can play CF and is raking and bellinger has the best power in the org. No thanks for Bruce

Reds, Dodgers still talking about Jay Bruce. But a source says that 3-way deal isn't going to happen. It was fun while it lasted!

Agree. The evaluation of Puig appears to be all over the place, with some rumors saying the Dodgers need to trade Puig + to get Bruce, and other rumors saying Puig will get them Bruce + in return. I get that his value is hard to gauge and is probably all over the place depending on the team. But Puig is worth more than Bruce. I'm in favor of trading Puig, but not straight up for a bad defense rental who is having a career half season. You trade Puig if you can get a guy like Bruce and another piece (it could even be a minor league piece, but you need something to offset the potential from Puig).

One thing to keep in mind as you sift through the Jay Bruce to LA rumor barrage: Dodgers prefer a RH bat so Josh Reddick is a better fit.

    :smh:
