You're right, it is hardly comparable...one is a different sport entirely...but you know that. You posted it because you wanted to, just like anyone who wants to mention Dee, Greinke, Chapman or anything else they want.
Maybe they think those individuals are important to mention in the scheme of things, on the team presently or not. And they could give a shit less whether you like it or not...like those who think basketball salary shit is the same.
Posters have to fit in your framework of what they can post?

You've already answered the question with a yes, that the suspension news does mean that you need to mourn again about the trade falling apart.
    I think we're done here.

Anderson to undergo tests on lower back
    by Ken Gurnick | MLB.com — 78 minutes ago

PHOENIX -- Dodgers pitcher Brett Anderson went for tests on his lower back on Wednesday, and his status is uncertain for Sunday's scheduled start.

Anderson felt a "tweak" at the end of throwing live batting practice on Tuesday, and by Wednesday, it had gotten worse. The club is concerned in part because he had lower back surgery in 2014.
Anderson thought he had fought off an injury-prone label last year when he went 10-9 with a 3.69 ERA over 180 1/3 innings, the most of his seven-year career.

After losing Zack Greinke, the Dodgers came into this camp counting on Anderson to be the fourth starter behind Clayton Kershaw, Scott Kazmir and Kenta Maeda. The leading candidate for the fifth-starter spot is Alex Wood.

Dodgers News: Mattingly, Puig failed to reach understanding
by Matthew Moreno | Dodger Blue — 3 hours ago

After coaching under Joe Torre in New York and Los Angeles, Don Mattingly took the helm as Dodgers manager in 2011. He guided the club to a pedestrian 82-79 record as a rookie skipper, though the Dodgers increased their win total through each of Mattingly’s first four seasons.

What’s more, Los Angeles won three consecutive National League West titles under their former manager for the first time in franchise history. The Dodgers have also posted three straight seasons with at least 90 wins for the first time since 1976-78.

In five seasons as Dodgers manager, Mattingly was 446-363 (.551 winning percentage). However, for all of the club’s regular-season success, Mattingly was 8-11 in the postseason.

Outside of a trip to the NL Championship Series in 2013, the Dodgers never advanced beyond the first round of the playoffs under their former skipper.

During his tenure in Los Angeles, the now-Miami Marlins manager faced high expectations and scrutiny, often had a clubhouse full of big personalities, and attempted his hand at a juggling act with the surplus of outfielders.

One oft-reported source of conflict was the relationship, or lack thereof, Mattingly had with Yasiel Puig. There appeared to be little love lost between the two over the years as they worked to remain cordial.

According to Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times, Puig believes he and Mattingly never understood each other, which is an issue the polarizing outfielder doesn’t have with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts:
Puig previously remarked Mattingly “did the best he could” with the Dodgers, though stopped short of placing the blame for the team’s shortcomings on his former manager.

Coupled with instructing Puig to lose weight over the offseason, which the Dodgers believe will be instrumental in the 25 year old avoiding hamstring injuries, the front office is relying on Roberts being able to connect with Puig.

Los Angeles reportedly received trade calls on the 25 year old during the offseason, but have maintained they are not interested in dealing Puig. He’s under team control through the next four seasons.

Anderson had a couple of rough starts at the end of last season after pitching well until then. His last regular season start was good the couple before then not good. He is then offered a qualify offer and decides to accept and says he wants to make his brand even stronger with another good year and then becoming a free agent again. Had he allowed himself to go on the open market he would have had to take a physical. By accepting he didn't. Was he feeling something in his back and knew a physical along with his previous history of lower back problems would scare folks away? Who knows but he is experiencing problems early in the Spring and if you discount the off season the timeline might make you wonder.

Yeah, if he spends lots of time on the DL, and doesn't give us a solid turn in whatever spot he winds up in the rotation, I guess he outgeniused the geniuses. Or rather, besbol.
The present structure and format of the QO invites this, and I wonder if this was even considered when initiated. Who exactly created and implementeld it?
    That slick ginger...
