    Chief, Please note that Puig is not a realistic athlete.

    Nor for that matter is Miguel Cabrera who hit .330 with 44 HRs and 139 RBI's
    as did Yastrzemski, Mantle and Robinson... It CAN be done

    Realism is in the eye of the beholder... and I've seen guys hit for average AND power more than once

    It used to be how we measured 5 tool baseball players

    umm...Capn, it's how we used to measure TWO tool baseball players, average and power being two of the FIVE tools, the other three being speed, arm strength, and fielding.

    Interesting about Andrew's "nature"...while the actual business carried on so far in this off season would indicate the opposite. IMO, some pretty good possibilities were swooped up by teams, particularly the Astros. The Old Guy can't be the end of it...of all the changes and subs/adds we have done, the most over riding need we had, even more than catcher, was nominally addressed.
    Not minimizing what who did get/jettison, but more to come, surely.

    I think Hatcher is a pretty underrated addition to our bullpen. He could easily start the year as our set up guy and be way better then anything we had last year. In 56 innings last year, K'd over 9 per 9 innings and walked just over 1 per 9 innings.

    Finding a good bullpen is so hard, in my opinion, cause one year a dude is lights out and the next he's shit. But Hatcher looks like he has a good arm and if he strikes out a lota ppl and doesn't walk many, good things will happen.

    especially about the year-to-year inconsistency
    and it's always risky signing them to multi-year deals
    cautiously optimistic on hatcher
    a little worried about JP though tbh

    Put your fears to rest Irish JP will be fine. To your point about multi-year deals I am glad we passed on Grili especially in light of the 2 + option that he received.
