I had thought about him just for a minute and looked up his stats vs righties which career wise was very good. Last year was a bad year for him. HOWEVER he is due 30 million total until 2019

    • The Dodgers have some interest in Japanese closer Yoshihisa Hirano, Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports tweeted recently. The 33-year-old Hirano has starred for NPB’s Orix Buffaloes for quite some time, amassing 143 saves with a 2.62 ERA, 9.4 K/9 and 2.4 BB/9 through 271 1/3 innings from 2013-17. Hirano, who will turn 34 next spring, has enough professional experience that he’s exempt from the posting system and is able to sign a Major League deal without going through the posting system. He’s also been linked to the Cardinals and Tigers this winter.

You can assume the Mets are among teams kicking around idea of pursuing long-time
All-Star Adrian Gonzalez. They're looking for a short-term add-on at the position; when
healthy, he's a good hitter/defender; was just cut by ATL, and costs nothing more than
    minimum salary in '18.

    holy crap!

Brock Stewart unharmed in scary Auto Accident
by Matthew Moreno | Dodger Blue — 2 hours ago

After the Los Angles Dodgers played to the final possible day of the 2017 season, several players quickly began to take advantage of a shortened offseason. Notably, Ross Stripling, Alex Wood and Justin Turner each got married and went on subsequent honeymoons.

More recently, Joc Pederson attended the Lakers game on Monday night to soak in the Kobe Bryant jersey retirement ceremony in person, and Yasiel Puig has gone on a European vacation, with stops in Spain and Italy, all the while documenting it on social media.

Other players returned home to be their with families, particularly as the holiday season drew near. For Brock Stewart, a recent posting suggested he was in Charlotte, N.C.

Shortly after, Stewart shared he and his girlfriend were involved in an auto accident that they fortunately managed to walk away from unharmed, via his Twitter account:

Stewart was among the plethora of pitchers the Dodgers utilized over the past two seasons. He made his MLB debut in 2016 and was primarily used in spot duty as a starter that year.

But Stewart was slowed by shoulder trouble this past spring, and the injury carried into the regular season. As a result, he was shifted to a role out of the bullpen, making just four starts in 17 overall appearances. Stewart recorded one save and pitched to a 3.41 ERA, 4.73 FIP and 1.37 WHIP in those games.

Clayton Kershaw and Josh Ravin are other Dodgers pitchers to have been involved in auto accidents in recent years, with both occurring during Spring Training. Kershaw’s was a minor fender-bender, while Ravins sustained a broken left forearm in his.

Longoria is okay I guess but man, given the Giants farm system now and finances, I don’t think they have another big move in them. They’re making a big bet on bounce backs

    Yeah, and 3 rings...

They aren't the problem anymore, at least for now. The Yankees are now the problem, along with the Astros and probably the Cardinals again.

The Gnats are officially all in I guess. Evan Longoria is a very very good player at this point in his career so it's an upgrade but their pitching will remain a BIG question.

    New #SFGiants 3B Evan Longoria is owed $86 million. The breakdown: $13.5M in 2018 (1.5M deferred);$14.5M in 2019 ($2M deferred);15M in 2020($2M deferred);$18.5M in 2021($2M deferred);$19.5M in 2022 ($2M deferred);$13M option or $5M buyout in 2023.

    10:02 AM - 20 Dec 2017

Opens up an outfeld spot for MAYBE Jay Bruce, he wants to play their reportedly. Have to be a real team friendly contract.

In other news we won't have to hear about the Dodgers interest in Zach Britton he has a ruptured achilles and is out for 6 months!!!

Your own babbling bullshit aside, they couldn't do anything to get anyone without addressing the luxury tax issues they created by signing unserviceable pitchers.

....and AGon proved his worth here.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
