His off season Dodger Stadium workouts consisted of him trying out ALL of the new food offerings at the stadium....while product testing the current offerings.

    Dodgers trade Font to A’s
by Daniel Starkand | Dodger Blue — 25 minutes ago

The Los Angeles Dodgers traded Wilmer Font to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for Logan Salow. Font was designated for assignment this week to make room on the 25-man roster for the call up of top prospect Walker Buehler, who started Monday’s game against the Miami Marlins.

The reason that Font was on the Dodgers’ Opening Day roster to begin with despite a rough showing in Spring Training was because he was out of Minor League options.

He was given an opportunity to prove that he can be a capable Major League pitcher, but he did not make the most of that opportunity, posting an 11.32 ERA, 8.38 FIP and 1.84 WHIP in six appearances (10.1 innings) while striking out seven and walking one.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts did not feel that there was be many innings for Font in the future, which led to him being designated for assignment. Roberts also added that there was some interest in Font on the trade market and they ended up finding a partner in Oakland.

Salow was a sixth-round draft pick of the Athletics in 2017 out of the University of Kentucky. In four games so far with High-A Beloit, the 23-year-old has yielded a 1.59 ERA and 0.53 WHIP while striking out eight and walking just two in 5.2 innings.

In 15 games with Low-A Vermont in 2017, Salow also had a lot of success, pitching to a 1.61 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 22.1 innings of work.

I fear that Font may not be the only era that's ending in 2018.

#Dodgers Corey Seager said he slipped on play in 9th, felt "a
little blip -- I don't know the right word for it" in his hip. Got soft-

Man, it sounds like this team is playing like absolute shit. I am going to be honest, I have just not much felt up to watching many games this season. I think I have as much of a hangover as anyone from that WS and to be honest, the FO's lack of upgrading the roster in the offseason didn't really sit negatively with me, but it didn't get me reinvigorated for the season either. I was expecting a slow start from a couple guys, but this is getting scary where some of these guys may really be regressing(*ahem*Chris Taylor). I'm not worried about Puig since he is hitting the ball hard and he actually had a worse start in terms last year when he looked just lost early. Really hoping that Turner coming back is the kick this team needs, cause otherwise there is not a whole lot to get excited about right now. Don Mattingly was on MLB Radio the other morning and boy did he not help things out for me. They asked how the lowly Marlins were able to beat Kershaw up and make him work and Donnie Boy flat out said that Kershaw isn't the same pitcher that he used to be and now he is playing even more into the hands of teams that know how to exploit his weaknesses. For years I wanted him to work on his change more just to give teams a separate pitch to think about and now that his FB is losing life, that could really come back to haunt him. Don said it is obvious that Kersh is losing MPH's and that he's now trying harder to ramp up the velo so he's missing his spots more and more. Since he isn't throwing his breaking pitches for strikes like in the past, teams can spit on the offspeed stuff and sit on the poorly located fastball. Scary stuff...

Oh and Pedro Baez needs to go, this FO continuing to hold onto him is absurd.

Scary stuff, or perfect timing. Easier to let him walk this offseason to whomever wants to load him up with another 200M contract on the strength of his name and resume ala Greinke. I mean, one may say, " we want to keep him and win ", but the latter doesn't seem realistic. Not with his history. Give that money to a prime Harper or Manny.

LAD fans may have to face it..Koufax gave the Dodgers 10 strong years before leaving and maybe Kershaw is heading down a similar path. Would've been nice if Kershaw's path included some excellent runs in the post season, of course, like Koufax. It is what it is. Kershaw was raised by the toxic McCourt regime.

I'd rather LAD go out and sign a finesse type of lefty like Dallas Keuchel this winter, TBH. Do that before overpaying for Kershaw. Although, Keuchel hasn't been good this year. He'll be cheaper with maybe still some upside since he's nowhere near 2,000 innings. Or maybe wait until 2020 and make a run at Bumgarner..yeah, I said it. He gets the job done. May have to worry about the occasional dirt-bike ride on a country road and silly benches clearing scuffles, but he delivers when it counts, thus IDGAF at this point.

    can't disagree
as great a (regular season) pitcher kersh has been
he has been a huge disappointment when it's mattered most
and tbh, that's all that matters when it's all said and done
and that's why, imo, koufax was/is a better pitcher than kershaw
could even make the same argument with drysdale or, hell, even claude osteen
that's why you would take a guy like madbum over kersh in a winner take all game
    sacrilege, blasphemy???...
    yeah, too bad
madbum will always be regarded as a big game pitcher
    kersh... a failure
